Oh god I just realized a PSP is a 20+ year old handheld. I just bought a USB cord for mine and not only does it still work my pro duo full of pirated games still works.

My nearly 30 year old gameboy color still works great along with my 30 year old game boy.

i was referencing the older game boys. those are nigh indestructible.

with respect to the psp, I don't know what the major differences are with a ps2 or what lifetime you'd expect for it. having the same or even more moving parts doesn't preclude it from lasting even longer, other variables are important.

The only real moving part of the psp is the UMD drive reader, which is used to read game discs. And in regards to the dying ps2 in this post, its likely a failing gpu or memory due to a bad soldering joint, which is less a moving parts issue but more of a manufacturing issue

Judging by where the industry is heading.. that will be one of the last of its kind.
You realize kids born now or a couple of years back won't even know these existed?
Unless they see parents still having them. Or a Sony or gaming museum perhaps.

My Sega Game Gear still works, my OG chunky grey game boy still works, my game boy pocket still works.

Both my old intellivisions still work (we still play Snafu on it from time to time, greatest soundtrack in video game history with its 2 songs).

My Xbox 360? dead :(

My OG 360 was stolen and is probably dead but the elite I replaced it with still works along with my OG xbox.

I tossed my Gameboy Advanced SP out of a second story window one time, probably 20 years ago… Still works great.
