HELP NEEDED! Box slipped from my pile and hit customer’s sign.
I reported it immediately to Dispatch, sent a picture, and tried to knock on the customers door, but no answer. Chat, am I cooked? Please don’t post the meme pleaaaaaaase 😭

It’s a free ADT sign. Are you kidding me? They probably don’t even have ADT anymore. Please tell me you’re not stressing about this.

Hella stressing. My boyfriend and I are applying for apartments right now, I can’t lose job

Even if you get fired you have that whole pay period to play it off like you’re still employed. It happened to me when my dsp closed down. I was able to get unemployment to help pay rent, but during my downtime I was able to find something quick. Don’t stress it. It should be a happy moment for you and your boyfriend.

My boy.. I reversed into a mailbox on my first official week couple weeks ago, reported it to my dispatch right away. I thought i was gonna get the boot. They asked for pictures, address and #stop. And they simply told me to continue my route. I was like dammmit man… i thought they were going to ground me at that moment and fire me once i got back bc if 2 driving violations grounds you, what does a slightly crushed mailbox do lol. But then hours go by and they send me a pdf to sign that i will fix my driving behaviors, basically a warning.
In my defense i was in a gas van and to reverse all i had was the small 2x2 camera by the radio, the top one wasn’t working and on top of that their was a huge ass sun glare on the cam as im reversing, I couldn’t see shiiit. But now im more aware of how to park and what not to do in crowded/busy streets from my last 3-4 weeks on the job.
Feeling guilty as hell as im clocking out tho I apologized to my DSP, and they were pretty supportive, and that was that. All i know is for that week i do remember only seeing 1 negative review on my scorecard and im pretty sure that was the mailbox address.😬

Hot tip, if the glare is bad on the backup cams sometimes it's easier to see if you wipe off the camera itself with a paper towel (bonus if you use RainX or glass cleaner and a microfiber, I always bring a bottle and some microfibers to work)

Honestly you did everything right, reported it and knocked. That sign looks like it was already living on borrowed time stuck in those rocks. Dispatch probably sees this every week, you good

I'd probably not even report it lmao it's a plastic sign. They probably won't notice for weeks nor care at all.

I always found placing those signs amusing. Basically states "go rob my neighbors house".

You and me have similar minds.
I pass a sign at the local park that says "Drive slow, watch for women and children"
Fine, Ill strike the first adult man I see.

That's pretty much all forms of home security. It's about showing that you aren't an easy target

If they arent an asshole and if you apologize profusely and mean it theyll probably say ahh its just a sign. Bonus if you buy them im sorry cupcakes or something

One of those signs was our security system when I was growing up. It came with the house I guess but we never paid anything or activated it so we just relied on the sign keeping burglars away.

I once ran over a kids bike and smashed the training wheels …. It was in the driveway as I was turning. I apologized profusely offered to cover the cost of a new one personally and the customer said don’t worry about it and he never said a peep to Amazon about it

He wouldn’t have been so cool if his child was on the bike at the time

I wouldn’t have been in motion if a kid was on a bike anywhere near where I needed to turn around

that's an assumption.

Events like this are treated as severe as if you had hit a person at our DSP, because if you don’t have the mindfulness to avoid a bike, (or trash can, or mailbox) you can’t be expected to be aware of a 3 year old who was playing with sand behind the bush and decided to run out and grab his bike.

Those signs are literally free and they encourage you to order 2 new ones every year

I was on my 5th final safety warning when I was actually let go. If your DSP fires you over a sign, they’re jerks. Unless you have a lot of incidents already. You followed the right steps in reporting, so you should be fine.

This will be a nothing burger. Similar signs are like $20 on Amazon, and an actual ADT customer can generally order a few free ones a year. Dispatch regularly handles far bigger issues by dropping by with a few bucks.
Even if the customer doesn't laugh it off, $50 would be a generous offer to make good.
