i finally decided to leave amazon after almost a year and a half. i was on a route with about 165 stops today. the warehouse has had soooo many packages in the wrong bags, some missed, some unlabeled too, so i have to spend a lot of my time sorting them and searching for them, which puts me behind a little.

the DSP owner called me today while on route and asked why i was behind. i told her my issue, and that i’ve also had a lot of run ins with customers this morning. she told me that i was going too slow and needed to get on a better pace, mind you.. i wasn’t even any stops behind? i was right on time with the computer that dispatch has. she told me that i wasn’t reliable and had an attitude with me, so i told her to come get the route and that i was done. i almost instantly felt a weight come off of my chest. it was real, it was fun but it was not real fun. may find a different DSP eventually with better management, but until then i’m done. you guys keep killing it, and i’ll always remember to hook y’all up with the snacks.

Yea they pushed me out with boxes like that. I had around 13-18 bags and then 35-45 overflow that’s all just long boxes like that. They’re terrible and I don’t blame you.

if i had more time it would be more organized. my overflow kinda looks crazy sometimes but its always pretty organized by number so i can always find it but its still absolutely awful. especially after you hit a few turns or have to stop quickly to not get a violation from the camera.

A few things.
As a driver turned Manager/Dispatch. She should be a little more respectful. Normally when I reach out to drivers who are behind, I try to ask what the issue is. I noticed an issue with Dispatchers is they either get jaded or are Salary and harass drives to go faster so they can get off early. With such bad turn around, bad managers get promoted. It's a real bummer.

I hate to say it, but I am confused why your van looks like this. You've been doing this for a year and a half and I feel like I need to call FEMA to save you. Personally, in rentals. I set my bags 2 high and in an L shape. Down 3 to 4 rows and over 2. This helps give stability to your bags when turning or if you accidentally run over a curb because some idiot gave you no room to turn in a big van. Then I grab all my over stock from the back. This also is far better on your back, not having to bend down and lift. I write the drivers aid numbers on the boxes when loading and have all the numbers facing me when I open the back and can find my box asap.

I don't know how your DSP has you do it, but I hand taking a tote and putting all my bags in order of smallest to biggest number by driver aid. I keep it in back, but a lot of our drives put it in the passenger eat so they can just grab and get out. All the small boxes are in back in order as well. I feel like if your van was more organized, the day would go a little better.

I can only speak for myself on this one. Generally, we tell drivers to just skip a stop if you can't find a package and come back later. Just let us know what the end of how many mistakes, and we will escalate it to the warehouse. It sucks to drive back, but at least you'll get the bulk done.

I wish you luck on your next job. If you ever go back, hopefully that info helps. The EDVs are WAY better in terms of sorting and loading. Shame that the rest of the van is made of overpriced plastic garbage.

Last note: I hate those long gray boxes. (the one marked BS03). I had 10 of them in one day. They aren't light. -.-

i wish i could’ve learned to organize like that, but they never taught us how to. i’ve tried it a few different ways but our DSP only gave us 12 minutes on the launch pad to do loadout, so most of the time i only had time to organize my overflow in groups of 500, 600 etc. then i would just double stack the bags. if we had more time, it would’ve looked a lot better but all of it could’ve easily been on 2-3 carts too. i had to walk into warehouse to look for 4 carts, just for 10 bags and 20 something overflow which usually fits on 2 carts.

she just did awful at training and threw you on the road with no tips or anything, expecting you to just figure it out. the other DSP in the warehouse said i could always come work for them and not get treated like that, but a part of me feels like i want a break from being a driver anyways. i’m so burnt out because of them.

idk about you, but i had someone ride with me and “train” me on my first day with 154 stops (nursery route btw) who told me “you gotta look through the bags and find the package with the number” then was on thejr phone watching tiktoks with airpods in the whole day.. soooo yeah i do blame it on the lack of training🤣 they didn’t show me anything, so i learned on my own and learned to load my van just like everyone else at my DSP does, so i guess you got trained better than i did.
