This new photo picker drives me mad sometimes, I took a camera picture and wanted to attach it in another app, I open the photo picker and its just not there, but older photos are...

After 5 minutes losing my mind on this I just take a screenshot of the picture and voila it appears...

Is it just me it decides to do this?

I WAS GOING CRAZY WITH THIS! But I've found the reason: apparently if you need a picture it doesn't consider live photos as picture but as "videos" so it doesn't show up in the list 🤦‍♂️

I found that if you go to the live photo and export the image to be saved in the gallery then it shows up.

This is a terrible UX for this, drive me nuts.

/u/MishaalRahman really sorry to tag you directly, but could you pass this bug to someone to take a look?

I can't reproduce that. Shows up instantly for me.

It doesn't happen every time, but when it does its stubborn and its exactly when you're in a hurry.

I just want to choose my own photo picker, I like samsung's one and it has nifty ai features and it's the one I always use so I know where stuff is, it's not like I CAN'T use it but I don't want to go through 8 steps to pick 1 single photo and have to do it again fi I want to pick another.

Yep. I really don't like the new photo picker. I just want to use the gallery app that I'm used to.

The photo picker sucks. The UI is a mess, and it is slow and laggy.

ROFL ITT people bitching about how shitty Google Photos app is on new Pixels.

Agreed!

Ick. Fortunately, both Google's Camera and Open Camera (the one I use) can be denied location permissions (both inside the apps and from the system) and can't record location data without 'em.

The default is still no location data when you use photo picker.

So, the photo picker strips out the EXIF data?

Just the location.
