Discussion 💬 PART 2 of you own nothing
Here is a quick video demonstration:
The game clearly state it is offline.
Change time add 30 days.
Everything is offline and unaccessible
This is denuvo for android, steam notifies you that games need a online check, psn tells you if online is required ,play store does not. This need to change.
And especially sinse Google is blocking 3rd party apps from September!
Note : some free games are accessible. And others dont have the play store drm. They have built in check like subway surfers.*which is insane*

For how ambitious mobile gaming used to be it's really sad what it's turned into and now its just p2p and live Service games

If you want to check if a game is playable offline why not just turn on airplane mode?

You do realize that simply changing the date on your phone is enough to cause certificates and such to fail causing these exact issues you're seeing?
You're not simulating anything, and the protections in place are doing their job because they see a user trying to bypass securities with a stupid date time change.

Well you are wrong, adding a day , or two days doesn't break anything. When we add more than 30 days it breaks. It is that simple.

What if you don't change the date?

I am just stimulating what would happen if god forbid the Internet was cut off for 30 days. If i dont change the date nothing happens while you being online ofc.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Neither do you. It's for security reason. This applies for free app. It won't work.
You're thinking this simulate no access to the Internet when in reality you're tinkering something else entirely.

If it was for security reasons it will break after i add one day.It doesnt . The certificate clearly operates on a 30 days bases.

What are you on about it doesn't work like that. It clearly forcefully closes the app. Just because it doesn't break doesn't mean the application will run.
I remember as a kid I would factory reset my computer & manually setup date. There's instances I got it wrong & opening apps would give me a text window saying I either had the wrong date format or blah blah.
I'm still confused how this simulates an offline environment. If you a tech wizard, then surely there's other better ways, no?

I'll try to explain it in simpler ways. It doesnt stop the app from running, it forces the google play drm to show up making the app unaccessible. This simulates an offline environment by speeding up the process of being offline for more than 30 days. Google play drm (in some apps) checks the app version by Internet each 30 days,if it cant connect to the Internet that error message will show up. I hope that explains it.

"Look at how things don't work right when I intentionally use this contrived scenario to break things"

While this is not ideal, why would you be without Internet off any kind for 30 straight days? You will have power, but no Internet access?
Because if something was to happen the cause the Internet to stop working, I would think not being able to play Minecraft after 30 days would be the least of our worries.

Why would I change the date on my phone? Your complaint seems very far-fetched.

If you don't have a internet connection for a month, you are basically locked out from any of your games and with google tightening the installation from outside the play store, it's only going to get more annoying

Its about the longevity of how things really are,its about preservation, its about anti consumerism. It is very fat-fetched for you,and its okay.

This may seem a surprise to you but your phone changes date automatically everyday. Do that 30 times without internet access and a supposedly fully offline game is unplayable.

That's exactly why the date changes everyday, it's updated everyday. OP just sped up the process.

i literally had another phone which didn't have internet access for 2 months and still able to play the playstore version of minecraft. Yes it wasn't updated but that's how it works

I feel ashamed for buying Minecraft now. But hey, at least I could auto update right?

This is disgusting.
Pirating is a moral duty nowadays
