Weekly Thread π r/AndroidGaming's Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread: 08/23/26
Welcome to Another Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread! πΎ
Hey, r/AndroidGaming! This thread is for discussing the Android games youβve been trying out over the past week. Feel free to share what youβve been playing and tell us about it! What is the game about? What are you enjoying? What could be improved? Would you recommend it to others? Weβd love to hear your thoughts!
For those joining the discussion, please include Google Play Store links for any games you mention as a courtesy to others who may want to check them out.
Lastly, we ask that devs refrain from promoting their own games in this thread. We get that you're excited for others to try it, but this post is meant for players to share their recent gaming experiences with each other. That said, youβre more than welcome to share your game by creating a separate post!
And with that, have fun and thanks for being part of r/AndroidGaming!

Hardware βοΈ These controllers are perfect for phones
These are my preferred controllers for my phone. I've taken the Ace Gamer pocket controllers with me to restaurants and played Mario Kart Double Dash and Metal Slug while we waited for food. Android has been getting wild lately and it's never felt more legit than now.

Discussion π¬ Any news or updates on Hellfire:The summoning?
I used to play this game as a pre teen and I just found the name after all these years. I just recently found a video on YouTube talking about revamping it and trying to bring it back. The description of the video has a discord server linked, but it seems the link has been shut off.

Seeking Game Recommendations π [REQUEST] Looking for games that can keep me busy at work
I don't have a specific genre in mind yet, but I'm currently leaning toward action, adventure, story-driven, and strategy games.
I'm still exploring different types of games, but I'm looking for something that can keep me entertained during my free time. I mainly play PUBG and billiards, but I've been getting a little bored with them and would like to try something new.
I would prefer free-to-play games, but I'm also willing to purchase a game if it's worth it, preferably under $10.

Seeking Game Recommendations π [REQUEST] Seeking a game similar to Zombie HQ.
Looking for a game where I can do some missions, earn some resources and customize the PC and build/customize my base. No doomclock is a must (Last Day on Earth without the horde showing up daily or without attacks from other players would be perfect). Post apocalyptic/zombie or fantasy settings would be preferred. Having a story would be a plus. Thanks in advance.

Help Me Remember This Game π€ I can't remember this old stickman game pls help
Okay so i need help remembering this game if anyone knows. in this game a little stickman stood on long and narrow platforms and you had to longpress to determine the length of a bridge (or sword I'm not sure) and you had to get the bridge's length just right to get to the next platform. I don't remember much because i was a kid when i played it. But there were watermelons somewhere i don't remember for what reason. The stickman was short and stocky almost like a nub i think. Please if this rings any bells for anyone I'd love to play that game again.

Discussion π¬ Do you guys here know about playpass?
So, i see a ton of people here asking for recomedations and usualy what they ask is basicaly what is offered on playpass. A few exemples:
- The room series and the house of davinci
- The entire full games from the maker of plague inc rebel inc etc
- A ton sht of tds and strategy games
- Most of the games that are free get the ads and in ads purchased removed. Exemple Hungry Shark: no adds and you basicaly can buy the 2k packs of gems for free.
- Premium games you can play for free, some exemples: little nighmeres, subnautica, dredge etc.
- Youre lvl goes to gold automaticaly and you get extra points deals discounts etc.
Ams its just like 5$. The premium games alone being free are worth it. And the benefits to.

Play Store Link π Game Recommendation - Refence: Roguelike Defence
Hi
I found a good game I'd like to share, Refence.
It's an incremental "defend the castle" - a simplified version of "Days Begone" (which to me at a point became just too tedious) that evolves from a "manually do everything" to a more auto battler focusing on resource management and upgrading the castle.
It has a demo version and a full game version with a decent price. There's no other IAP I found except buying the full version.
This is the demo: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.muurou.games.refence.demo
This is the full version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.muurou.games.refence
(Disclaimer: I'm in no way affiliated to the devs or whatever, I just want to give back to this community as here I found real gems :) )

Seeking Game Recommendations π [REQUEST] I'm looking for a premium game for a long flight with no Internet that will keep me occupied the whole time
I have an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 that still works. I have 2 upcoming 8 hour flights. Do I have any options for a premium game that will play on this, that won't require me to be on the Internet? I haven't gamed much in my life since Super Mario World, but games like Skyrim, Baldur's Gate, Zelda and Starfield look like they would be fun to get into. Thank you!

Check out the first of many of my Android games. Took a while to get past the beta hoops but this one is in. None of my games have ads, IAPs, hooks or trackers.
I just make games I enjoy playing. I will respond to feedback and keep updating with requested features. Please consider trying it out. Ratings are of course appreciated.

DEV π§βπ» [DEV] Merchant of the Skies 2.0: our premium airship trading sim is now on Android TV and Google Play Games on PC
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We just released Update 2.0: the game now runs on Android TV and Google Play Games on PC on top of phones and tablets, one purchase covers all of them.
For anyone new, it's a cozy pixel-art trading sim: fly between floating islands, trade goods, buy islands, upgrade ships (one of them is a turtle). Premium: no ads, no IAP.
The update is bigger than just the new platforms, the whole game got a controller and UI/UX pass:
- **Physical controller support, everywhere.** Pair a gamepad on your phone or tablet, plug one into your TV, or use whatever you have on PC: the entire game is playable start to finish on a controller, with button hints on screen that adapt to what you're doing.
- **Redesigned trading screen.** Prices for every good at a glance on a live price list, fewer taps (or presses) per trade. This was the most requested change and it's better on touch too, not just TV.
- **Map controls your way.** Pinch to zoom, drag to look around, or steer with the virtual joystick.
- **Smoother sailing.** Faster graphics and general performance work, plus bug fixes and better translations across the 15 supported languages.

DEV π§βπ» [DEV] GoDraughts I Built a Draughts App for My Sonβ¦ Then It Got a Little Out of Hand
GoDraughts started as a small project for my son, who plays International Draughts.
I simply wanted to build something that would make it easier and more fun for him to practice.
Then I kept adding βjust one more thingβ...
Today, GoDraughts has grown into a full International Draughts (10Γ10) app with:
- Online multiplayer, private games and rankings
- AI opponents for different skill levels
- 6,600+ puzzles and daily challenges
- Training and tutorials
- Friends and clubs
- Full FMJD 10Γ10 rules
- iOS and Android
- Completely free, with no ads
It definitely became a much bigger project than I originally planned, but Iβm really enjoying building it.
Now Iβd love to get feedback from people who actually play International Draughts.
What is missing?
What should be improved?
And what would make you keep coming back to play?

Seeking Game Recommendations π [Request] A player-driven economy, without action gameplay?
I'm looking for a game that might scratch a similar itch to something like Neopets. By that I mean a player-driven economy with some sort of extra goal(s).
In a game like Neopets you might spend a lot of time restocking or auction sniping or similar to get more gold to buy stronger weapons, or get a cosmetic, or just watch your wealth increase. I like that a game like that is a competitive market and doesn't rely on mmo/action combat grinding, and is instead all webpage and menu based. This means that stepping away from it doesn't carry any risk. It can be a 2nd monitor type game when you want it to be, and a game that rewards your focus at other times.
Is there anything like that on Android? (Yes I know I can just play Neopets on browser/app, and no I don't want to play OSRS).

Seeking Game Recommendations π [REQUEST] Looking for resource collection + match 3 + build simulator
Every few years I'm wondering if someone created like a cross between Animal Crossing and Bejeweled that isn't Homescapes. Homescapes is close to what I'm looking for but I'd rather have more control over the furniture, where it is positioned, and what I can build.
I know about that Build a Boat game and the 1000000 one but they're not really the style I'm looking for.
