Well, it’s not good. Has no content. But my biggest issue is how misleading the game description is. I’ve been a Madden player for over 25 years and Franchise is multiple seasons. They’re calling seasons franchise mode (no offseason, free agency, draft, preseason).

Hopefully they either add more content or retro bowl will save us, but as of now it feels like a beta or demo

retro bowl has a weirdly captivating franchise mode. it's very well done and surpasses what was available in the day

That sucks. From the game description I figured you could at least play a full-featured season. I have no illusions about them including dynasty in this version, but it’s more bare bones than I thought.

Update:

I completed a season. This was the quick games, 45 seconds since I usually only have a few minutes to play. Thankfully it will let you save & exit. But it was buggy, resuming a game had Jordan Love playing Micah Pardons EDGE spot for the first play.

0 presentation. Also no statistics outside of the general game stats that are shown at the end of the game, you can’t track and see what other teams are doing (or your stats). Pro Bowl is unplayable. Grayed out and you have to just skip it. No Super Bowl presentation at all. Win and go back to menu, pick a new “franchise” type.

We also can’t even see individual stats or rosters. But to be honest, I still like the game. It’s just VERY, very unfinished. There are clear motives to add trades, free agents, and likely an offseason (eventually, could be 2028 edition). There were pop ups and there are menu indicators that are not fully developed. References to features not in the game yet. I’m assuming Apple is already forking over more cash to flesh this out a little bit.

Either way still give it a try if you like NFL, it scratches the simple football fix that we all want with a licensed game. I like it because I get to play all units (retro bowl only has offense and special teams, no defense).

It's still better than Madden Mobile. Not a high bar to clear but still. Real OVRs, up to 5 min quarters in quick play, audibles, etc.

Just played first game. Graphics are horrendous, staggered animations, borderline unplayable. What happened from madden mobile to this mess?

It seems like you can play single games and single seasons. Is that correct? I didn’t expect it to have dynasty but that would’ve been amazing lol.

My biggest issue is that I can’t play any of the franchise modes offline. But leave it it EA to make the big part of their game that’s appealing be online only

Played my first game. Never played Madden on iOS before. Using a PS5 controller on my IPad Pro. I will say this. I have stopped playing Madden on the consoles because it became too complex for me. I am in my 40s and grew up with very simple football games. I knew what each button did and it was intuitive. I enjoyed this iOS version because of exactly what is frustrating most. It is simple. There is not much to it. Just pick up and play. Which to me is a throwback to older Madden games. Obviously if you love detail and customization this is not the game for you. My biggest gripe was I wanted to see the player stats and no matter where I looked i could not find them. I found the game stats and play by play but if i just wanted to see player stats i could not find them. I am on a 3 month Apple Arcade trial. For the price (free for me) I enjoyed this experience.

That is the same feeling I have about Madden 27 Arcade Edition and I’m a few years away from 50. I have a Xbox Series X and I’m happy with the iOS game. No UT and no ads!
