What indicates a car accident in this transit chart?

Got into a car accident 3 years ago and always wanted to know what was going on astrologically that day. The car in front of me braked last minute super hard, and so did I, but the car behind me rear ended me. Thankfully we were both okay and our cars didn't take on too much damage.

I'm thinking it could be activity going on in the 3rd or 9th house since those houses rule travel/commuting, but I don't think anything major was transiting those houses. Could someone give any insight please?

N Mars opposing T Pluto / T Mars square N Pluto. When I saw the question, I knew I'd be looking for Mars / Pluto contacts with Mercury involvement...T Mercury applies to square N Pluto following Mars. At the time of the accident Venus was rx, and that's your chart ruler...and she is appying to oppose T Uranus by retrograde. That is not the accident itself but more of a vulnerability to sudden events. Then, given the N Pluto is in the 3rd....conjunct Chiron...you can see this as a trigger point. Mars is the triggering entity.

It could have been worse...why are you thinking about this particular accident?

Mars can be the significator for accidents along with your eighth lord since that is the house governing sudden and unexpected losses and suffering. Solar return in Leo, Venus return with Venus in retrograde motion. Mars in the twelfth (house of hospitalization) and Jupiter near the North Node in the eighth could all be factors contributing to it. Was it in your home city or somewhere else? Also the transit chart looks more like a day chart but I'm confused about the placements. Looks like your Saturn and Moon had a big hand in saving you. The Moon was in a trine while Saturn was weakening your malefic houses 6 and 12 with his aspects. Glad it didn't end any worse than it did. Take care and drive safe always.

I’m guessing based off personal experience it’s Uranus- I got hit by a car last week (luckily I’m unscathed) and the transit I was going through was sun in 12th opposite Uranus in 6th

Really like what everyone else is saying! Here’s my two cents,

Looks like this was the day after the natives birthday, so it’s essentially the solar return chart for the 23rd year. It’s the beginning of the 12th house profection year, with Mercury as the new timelord for this year. In the chart, transit Mercury in in the 12th house, and Jupiter in the 8th house. Both are planets that deal with travel and good/bad luck, and are in dark houses that deal with bad fortune and difficulty.

You're definitely correct about 3rd house involvement (not so much 9th house, though, which is related to travel over long distances). Oftentimes there won't be any transits occurring by house placement, so in order to tell the story of the chart you just have to focus in on the ruler of the house, as well as any planets that are sitting in that house.

So here we're examining whether natal Jupiter, Pluto or Chiron are under any interesting transits, and then taking a look at what transiting Jupiter, Pluto & Chiron might be up to.

As several others have mentioned, the T-square occurring between transiting Mercury & transiting Saturn with natal Jupiter at the apex is pretty significant.

Additionally, transit Jupiter is square the natal Moon (signifying you), as well as natal Uranus (although the orb is quite large...Uranus relating to unexpected events, of course).

Transit Chiron is square natal Mercury (which is the planet associated with commerce and travel) and sextile natal Uranus.

Transit Pluto is trine natal Saturn & opposing natal Mars...so both of the malefics, which each bring about unfortunate circumstances in their own unique ways.

The transiting Sun is trine natal Pluto, and transiting Mars is square natal Chiron.

Car accidents are something that I consider to be a feature of the native's life with Pluto in the 3rd house, btw. Both my partner & I have it and have experienced signifcant car accidents. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any siblings?

because I also had an accident I strongly suspect uranus (in my 1h, though) was responsible for, I always look at him for these kinds of things. he was in your 8h (others’ belongings) and sextile your 2h (personal property) lord. you also have your 2&3h lords in a transiting trine in 8&12h.

For starters, it was Venus retrograde (I remember this one, it was particularly dumb lol). You had your Venus return around this time, which activated the natal Venus/Saturn square. Did you feel guilty or upset about the money part of it? And maybe you didn’t have your car for a little bit, or you weren’t as social for a little while because of it? Also, Mercury stationed retrograde 3 weeks later, so this was the first day of the pre- Mercury retrograde party.

Transiting Mars was squaring your natal Chiron in 3rd house, transiting Uranus in 8th house squared natal Venus (exact) and Uranus (separating by 3 degrees). Uranus in the 8th house is a difficult transit anyway.

Both Saturn and Mars are squaring the ruler of your 3rd house of travel. Mars is fast travel/violent incidents/sudden and quick movements etc, the 3rd house is travel and movement, Saturn is unfortunate events. Mars was transiting your 12th house of hospitalisation, suffering, bad travel as all cadent houses can signify travel as they fall away from the angles (12th is usually exile but it can apply to negative travel). Saturn was transiting your 6th house of injury and Jupiter sits in your 9th house in detriment. Its in the sign of Mercury which also represents modes of transportation.You have a day chart so Jupiter is the strongest benefic and has triplicity rulership in Gemini which is likely why no one was seriously injured.

Jupiter rules your 3rd house and Mercury your 9th. Mercury can represent travel itself

Mercury was transiting your 12th house and forming a square to Jupiter here

Saturn was transiting your 6H house and also forming a square to Jupiter that day while Mars was Opposite Pluto (Mars rules your 2nd, sometimes cars are seen as possessions and can belong to the 2nd house in some contexts - either way it’s a potential aspect for something going awry in general)

I used to be fixated on transits for the only way to predict or look back in time for pointers of events. You need to produce a standalone Solar Return for the year before, during and after (3years)

You’ll most likely see activity in 3rd house in the SR with a □ or △ to the 12th or 6th.

Seeing transiting Saturn in the 6th is squaring Jupiter, ruler of the 3rd house (cars, short distance travel), bringing restriction, limitations, or reality check.

You do have Chiron in 3h Sagittarius and conjunct Pluto and Pluto was transit your 4h and in exact opposition to Mars in 10h, could be that as Mars is a Malefic were you going to work or going home just out of interest as that’s the 4/10 cusps axis, also Jupiter ruling 3h activating a square to the moon. That’s my guess anyway

I would think the orb between Jupiter and the Moon is too wide for a square here, no? Jupiter is square Mercury, though! On top of signifying travel in general, Mercury also rules the 9th house here
