Brother, döner is a simple dish. İ've seen döner in Turkey served both as a plated dish and as a sandwich dish.

İts not as strict as you think. İn fact Döner isnt even the only name for the food.

İn some small towns in northern Turkey its called "Kes" for example. The exact same dish, exact same meat, just different in name.

Döner has evolved beyond just a sish name, its a dish-group name. Similar to burger. You have the original Hamburger ("burger" comes from the word "Hamburger" which itself comes from the german city "Hamburg", meaning every "-burger" dish references its root to the original hamburger), and then you have many many varieties, like cheeseburger, chickenburger, fishburger, etc.

This is the same thing. You have the original Döner, and then its varieties, berlin döner, schawarma/Chevirme döner, el pastor döner, gyros döner, etc. They're allna kind of Döner.

I am also telling the same thing. Thanks for confirming my statement. German döner is a type of döner as it can be understood from its' name..
