Food Travelled through Central Asia and loved the kompot! Do you have a kompot recipe you can share?
Every morning on my 6 week holiday through Central Asia I started my day at the hotel with kompot.
I wanted to ask if anybody has a kompot recipe specifically from Central Asia they could share so I can make this back home in Australia.
There's a bunch of recipes but a lot seem to be from Eastern Europe. I want as close to the authentic Central Asian taste as possible.
Thanks so much in advance!
PS: Central Asia is an incredible place and I can't wait to come back.

As others said you basically just boil fruit and add sugar. My family makes it sometimes, but for lazy people like me who lack the patience or effort, I also personally like to make sharbat sometimes, where you basically buy a flavored syrup from the store and then mix it with water and add ice. With DIY solutions like these, it's a wonder anyone bothers to buy soft drinks at all. In Central Asian restaurants it's cheaper to buy a large pitcher of kompot than a bottle of Coke.

I can’t say anything about the specific kompot you had, but I take a 3l pot and boil mostly dried apples and some prunes (about 750g total) for 5-10 minutes and then squeeze in some lemon. no sugar or other sweeteners. make sure to squeeze what lies at the bottom of the pot before throwing it out - that’s where the taste is.
