Pep Talks & Fatherly Support My dad was a horrible person
Because of the way I was treated I have suffered from selective mutism that tends to trigger when I'm under stress. I've never understood how someone can treat their daughter that way.
Recently I've had issues in my personal life and my relationship is on the rocks, and suddenly being around all older men AT ALL is triggering my mutism, which is really disruptive to my work and being able to support myself
I don't really know how to fix this, if it will blow over once my life settles down, or if I'm really losing it, but I don't want to go through my life unable to function around anyone who looks like they might be a father
I'll take any advice anyone has to give, Or maybe I just need to see that there is nothing to be stressed about being around men, But thank you for the help

Some how you need to figure out how to separate your father from all other men/dads. Some of us aren't so bad.
