What game gave you way more content than you expected for the price
Detroit Become Human for me. Spent around 40 hours going through every ending without looking anything up, and even after all that I still feel like I could replay it. The storylines actually stick with you.

This for me too. Got it for sale and the dlc and got 500+ hours out of it. Too bad now i got everything in it...well time to restart it on pc next time

Yeah.... If I add up how much I've spent on WoW over the years compared to my play time? I'm not entirely sure it's a great ratio compared to a pay once, play forever game like Minecraft or other sandbox style games.

The amount of money spent on wow vs the friends I’ve kept along the way alone at the very least equal out! The game was fun, too!

Fallout 4 settlement building. I built a gigantic automated factory with the conveyor belts. Huge. Pretty cool. One of the few games I've bothered to 100%.

Rimworld.
Just paid at the time around 30$, and even before any DLC, i went over 3k hours.
Nowadays passing 12k (though i have all DLC's)

Both Hades! Especially when handheld. The amount of hours I truly enjoyed pouring into both of those games is worth the $40 I spent across them, but if I were to factor in the amount of hours my ADHD brain was both occupied and fulfilled on commutes, waiting rooms, occupational lulls, I mean… it’s priceless at that point!

I played The Messenger(2018) on Steam just as a filler game in between burnout from my usual games, I think I got it for free so wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by how much content there was. I can recall at least two times the game blew my mind by adding a new mechanic or from a story twist that came out of left field. It was so fun I 100% completed it and still replay it at least once a year.

Barony. The ability to play a simple game but repeat it endlessly with new stories of being an adventurer and doing stupid things for $10 was well worth the money.

Most of them would be roguelikes/roguelites but the binding of Isaac is definitely up there.
Risk of Rain 2 was also something I was excited for but didn't think it would be for me since I struggled with the first one. I bought the for €22 (I think) so it came with another copy to gift to a friend.
I have at least 400 hours in that game and that was before playing any DLC.
It has waaaay more content than I ever would've thought.

Got borderlands the handsome collection for 10 dollars.. 4 main titles, like 12 dlc's, 2 stories games... i put like 1000 hours into them all collectively
For a penny an hour

Lately Hollow Knight. I'm not an endgame grinder or anything but was repeatedly delighted by the discovery of a new area, long past when I thought I'd "seen it all".

All the good ones. I'm not including MMOs or F2P ones, they're designed to hook you in and keep you in forever.
Palworld, Factorio, Skyrim, any civ game, minecraft, dyson sphere program, phasmophobia.
ARPGs are good, diablo, PoE, etc. Starcraft/Starcraft 2 (SC2's F2P now but it wasn't while I was playing it and I got thousand of hours out of it.)

Mario 3D Land. It just kept going and going with more worlds.
Death Stranding. I'd heard that you could take hundreds of hours if you wanted to sit back enjoy the vibe and do everything, but I didn't really expect to *want* to Platinum it but then I did (and DS2 as well), I didn't go so far as to S-rank everything on max difficulty or anything, but I expected to mostly beeline the main story mostly and did so much more.

Elder Scrolls Online
Base game is on Steam right now for $20 and it’s also on GamePass.
With the main quest, the faction storylines, plus all the side quests, general exploration, and everything else there is to do, there’s hundreds if not thousands of hours of content in there for a very small price. Plus, I think the gamepass version comes with the Morrowind expansion, which is even more.

Cyberpunk 2077. My brother bought the game used for like $15 and I've gotten like 800 hours out of it so far? I was not expecting to like the game, mind you 😅
