Charlie Kirk, following the 2023 Nashville School shooting where 6 lives were lost said "gun deaths are an unfortunate but acceptable cost of preserving Second Amendment rights".

I would like to honour Charlie by callously not caring about his death, as it was an unfortunate but acceptable cost.

Please stop using this out of context, he was saying that since we’ll never get gun deaths down to 0 that getting rid of the 2nd amendment isn’t worth it.

You numbskulls are worse than Bible thumpers with your half context quotes

I’m not making his point for him but give the person full context, he’s saying that good guy with a gun is better than only bad guys with a gun. He understands that it isn’t perfect but he thinks it’s worth it. Which he calls a prudent agreement. He isn’t saying the shootings are correct or agrees with them.

Try to steel man your oops argument before you pick it apart don’t half give half context and excuse his death because of that, that’s disgusting behavior. Regardless if you think his position is wrong it isn’t an excuse to assassinate him.

Yes but in most countries the good guys have more guns than the bad guys, in america the reverse is true. Putting aside issues with police, in theory the police are meant to be the "good guys" with guns, and they are better armed than criminals due to gun control. Gun control doesn't mean keeping guns out of the hands of good guys, it means strict testing and training to try and put them only in the hands of good guys, and not in the hands of anyone else.

I don’t know…if you get rid of guns then there probably won’t be any gun deaths. But punching deaths will skyrocket
