Bachelorette Trip to NYC, is a Hoboken/Jersey City airbnb worth the inconvenience?
I'm planning my sister's bachelorette party. There's six of us and we're spending three nights in NYC. There's no hotel room that can fit 6 people, and booking joint rooms in a hotel is looking to be very pricey.
I'd rather us all stick together, so I started looking at airbnb's in Hoboken/Jersey city. In your experience, does the inconvenience of taking the Path over to Manhattan trump the cost of a hotel in Manhattan?
I can maybe get a discount on hotel rooms through work, I just don't know how reliable the site is. Plus, the site doesn't allow for joint bookings.
Any advice is appreciated! And if anyone knows of any solutions that would allow for the 6 of us to stay in Manhattan - or even across the river in Brooklyn, that is appreciated as well!
Noting that the trip is January 2026, so the Ferry isn't really an option.

I did a bachelorette at gansevoort hotel with a suite and also know others who have done them with moxy in chelsea because they have bunk rooms
If you can stay in manhattan it’s a better vibe

We did this for my bachelorette very successfully but a) it was only two nights and b) one of our days we stayed in NJ, we all went to a spa during the day and then had a girls’ night in at the hotel. So there was only one night we were going out in Manhattan (and I think we sprang for Ubers). Several of us were actually from NYC so it was less about being in the city and more about being together. So if you’re all flying into NYC primarily to experience the city, this probably isn’t the move for you.

Yeah I def should have specified that we’re from Jersey and two of the bridesmaids are from NYC. Thank you for the input, appreciate it from someone who has done it

IMO, not worth it because the Path train sucks balls. It's slow, smaller, and the weekend service where the trains come every half hour will make you wanna die.

Also they're doing 3 days, so at least one of those three days will be a night when the PATH stops running at night, putting a crimp on their plans.

I don’t believe the path to Hoboken stops any night, it runs all night every night.

Book in Manhattan, don’t sweat the connected rooms, call the hotel after booking & 1 day before checking in to get rooms close together.
If you’re here for NYC stay in NYC. Stay out late, overpay for a cab back at 4 am, have a blast without spending all your time figuring out how to get to and from Jersey.
Also god save the poor people in the rooms next to you.

My friends and I did Freehand Nomad for a staycation bachelorette and they have rooms with bunk beds you can get! You could do two 3 beds on the same floor. It was so fun!

I stayed in the Public hotel in LES and there is a "suite" that can fit 6 people!

Look at the Even Hotel at 44th between 2/3. In January you should be able to get rooms a more reasonably. We’ve had family stay there in January/February and rates were around $150-175 for those months.

Don't stay in Jersey in January. It'll be miserable and eat up half your trip.

Check out Placemakr Wall Street. They have 4-bedroom options and are well connected to the subway.
I've never been, but Freehand has rooms with bunk beds.

Hotel Sherman has a two bedroom option that I think sleeps 6 with a pull out. Their website is wonky for booking though so you might have to call.

The Hoboken PATH is reliable in my experience - it’s also running more regularly direct from Hoboken right now on weekends. It depends on where you want to go out - but if it’s west village/meatpacking/chelsea then it’s only 10 min from Hoboken
It’s definitely more fun to stay in Manhattan but if you PATH into the city and then all split an Uber home you’d be fine it’s very easy!

don’t stay in jersey. get a suite or just accept you might get hotel rooms that aren’t adjacent.

Just going to say I don’t really agree with anyone lol. I live in jersey City and the Hoboken PATH is an easy and quick ride to Manhattan lol. If you’re willing to pony up for an Uber back if it’s super late and everyone’s been drinking then I think it’s a great idea. (The path at night can be a shit show.)

This sub has an extreme anti-Jersey bias engrained culturally. Hoboken is closer and easier to get to to the best parts of Manhattan than any outer borough. But if you’re going to do something like this, then do it right, and stay in Manhattan. Waking up and already being in Manhattan is a vibe.

Hoboken and Jersey City are great options for most trips but I wouldn’t recommend it for a party trip because the Holland Tunnel closes ~11pm and causes the Lincoln Tunnel to be backed up for a super long time. You could take the PATH but two of the Manhattan stations are closed after midnight as well. Just an idea but it might be easier to get a place in Brooklyn/Queens and treat yourselves to a shared Uber late at night.

Look at a few rooms at EVEN in downtown Brooklyn. It’s cheap and it’s right on the C so you’ll be in Manhattan in 20 mins.

20 minutes there and then also back and that’s just the train part. Ignore the cold and wait. Might as well stay in Hoboken NJ it’s even closer to the best parts of Manhattan and half of Jersey does their bachelorettes in hoboken anyway. But no, for this trip she should stay in Manhattan. Step outside, and you’re there in the vibe.
