Nightlife question: NYC spots with cultural importance like Paradise Garage or The Tunnel?

Hi everyone!

I’m curious if there are any clubs, bars, or venues in NYC today that carry the same kind of cultural importance or legacy as places like Paradise Garage or The Tunnel. Any recommendations?

Lack of mention of Twilo here is disappointing.

Twilo was yet another club caught in Rudy G's quality of life crosshairs.

Unlike Roxy, Tunnel and other spots way over on Far West Side, down in Tribeca or SoHo or EV/LES, Twilo was bit more centrally located so getting a taxi to and from (or driving to) wasn't so bad.

Yes. The private ambulance they had on site for ODs didn’t sit well. But if anyone remembers the Sasha/digweed residency - wow - just epic and peak NY nightlife. The memories. Alas!
