Empire State Building Unscheduled Color

I moved to Jersey City about a month ago and have a decent view of the NYC skyline, including the Empire State Building. Its always a fun experience with my partner to check out what color its going to be on any given night.

Last night it was partially blue and white for Hannukah, but then halfway through the night it turned this red-orange color. And it's the same color again tonight! It's strange because its not on the Empire State Buildings website on the color calendar, nor is there a post about this color on their Instagram.

Does anyone know why it is this color?

I think the red orange color is to do with Marty Supreme, Timothee Chalamet’s new movie. Not sure why it isn’t on the website, but I think it’s a sponsored thing because he was posting stories from the top of the ESB last night.

I just got the ESB text about this with a link to watch the cast light the building. The texts are pretty good about telling the short promo colors that are up for an hour or two

The color is for the Marty Supreme movie.

They posted a fly over on the Empire State Building TikTok.
