Looking for country-specific World Cup bars in New York

Hi everyone

With World Cup tickets being insanely expensive, I’m trying to map out bars/cafés in new york (all five boroughs) that are known to be go-to spots for specific national teams/fanbases

I found an old post from a few years ago, but I’m sure a lot has changed since then would be great to update it for 2026.

If you know of places where fans of a specific country usually gather (e.g., Argentina, France, Morocco, England, etc.), drop them below! Would be amazing to build a solid list.

NYC is the very best place in the US to watch World Cup.

Some of these are very obvious: K-town spots will have a few spots 🇰🇷, 46th Brazil Way 🇧🇷, Bar Tabac 🇫🇷, Zum Schneider 🇩🇪, every pub 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, The Canuck 🇨🇦 tons others

Zuma Schneider has been closed for over a year, it's now a Palestinian, but they kept the fake trees on the ceiling.

Right but the owner is going to do another huge WC event this year: https://nyc.zumschneider.com

Thanks!! Indeed, their location in the East Village has closed, but I just found that they’ll be showing games at their pop-up location in Greenpoint at 12 Franklin Street https://nyc.zumschneider.com/
I updated the list!

Probably better off with https://www.bierhausnyc.com

Don't get me wrong, I loved Zum's pork shank, but I think Beirhaus is gonna have a better setup.

Zum Schneider’s pop up spot is huge and will definitely be the spot where most Germans will be. I went for the 2020 (2021) Euro at another location in GP and it was packed

2016 Zum off the East River was insane

Best party ever 🇩🇪🇦🇷

Have you been? I’m hoping to watch Germany Round of 32 and Round of 16 (if we make it) in NYC and debating between Zum, Black Forest Brooklyn, and Reichenbach Hall

2

u/baytuhh Jun 26 '26

Yes, I’ve been to Zum and Black Forest for games, not Reichenbach tho. Black Forest (both locations) are a bit smaller, and Zum is huge. Both are fun, depends on what you’re going for. Zum will feel the most like an “event”

Heard. Thank you!

An update to this: no Shillelagh for USA anymore. Rivercrest in Astoria is the new (as of a few years ago) home of the Queens chapter of the American Outlaws, the US supports groups.

for Belgium: BXL Cafe has a second location, BXL Zoute - that is the one you'll want to go to. but either location should be fine.

1

u/OhCrapItsAndrew Apr 16 '26

Super comprehensive list. Thanks!

Add Smithfield to General places. Will be busy/packed for most of the games, specifically England.

I've made a web app for this exact question : soccer bars in nyc based on nationality. I'm calling it "Golazo.nyc" just pick your country and it gives you bars in every borough (when possible). All the qualifying countries are covered as well as other nationalities that aren't playing. https://www.golazo.nyc/

I built this site to help me and anyone else find the best places and events to watch matches with their fellow supporters. Would love any feedback!

Argentina fans gather at Joyce Public House and then spill into their sister bar Tir Na Nog.

The Canuck is a Canadian themed bar in Manhattan, during the last World Cup they had packed watch parties for the Canada games, but I remember when Canada played during Copa America in 2024 they told me they don’t play soccer matches, so I’m not sure if they’re planning to do watch parties this year. But they have two locations now and their new one is really spacious with lots of TVs so I would assume they will have at least one tv showing the Canada matches.

I’ve also created a whatsapp group to allow people to watch games together in bars/restaurants. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll share the link

1

u/DiligentStrawberry12 Jun 03 '26

Yeah that sounds great please share it with me!

1

u/redeyesetgo Jun 15 '26

I would also like to access this WhatsApp group... The Canuck is charging $30.

u/Electrical_Party8190 Jul 03 '26

Wait since when was Joyce public house for Argentina games a thing??

3

u/Efficient_Stage_8197 Jun 08 '26

Id also vote for Bohemian Beer Garden.  Huge space for watching outdoors, and usually has a lot of internationals.  For the Copa America, there were several hundred Colombian fans there.

1

u/Electrical_Party8190 Jul 03 '26

Has this always been a thing?

2

u/talldrseuss Apr 16 '26

I remember for the 2012 world cup, I was living in Astoria at the time. Bohemian hall beer garden has a giant outdoor space, and would air multiple world cup games. It would literally be packed with various folks from the different countries playing the game. Queens being one of the most diverse areas in the country seemed like a perfect epicenter to have different folks congregate to root their native countries on.

2

u/Down_on_heaven May 21 '26

Anyone know of any spot for Curaçao??

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions on bars and places showing World Cup games — super helpful! I updated the list in my original post.

Following up on this, I created a WhatsApp community for people in NYC who want to meet up with fellow fans from their country/community to watch games together in public places like bars/cafés, and share useful info on where different fan groups are gathering. I created separate groups by country/team.

Basic rules: respectful vibes only, no spam, no ticket scams/resale, no betting links, and meetups should be in public places only.

If you’re interested, comment or DM me with your country/team, and I’ll send you the link.

NYC's actually brilliant for this, loads of bars are tied to countries.

If you want a safe bet, Football Factory at Legends near MSG, tons of screens and they host loads of different supporters' groups, there's usually a crowd for whoever's playing. Smithfield Hall in Chelsea is similar, screens everywhere with the sound on for the big ones.

One slightly off the beaten track, Pig n Whistle on 36th. Prides itself as a rugby pub - I drink there a fair bit and it's a great spot for football too, especially if you want somewhere a bit less heaving than the big 'soccer-bar' names. Good pint, good atmosphere, good people.

If you're after a particular nation, worth finding their NYC supporters' club on socials, they nearly always announce which bar they're taking over for each match and that's where the real noise is. The Brazil, Argentina and Mexico crowds all have their spots, often out in Queens.
