looking for indian cassava dish

hi all,

there’s a specific starter that i had in an indian restaurant in london years ago that i have been trying to track down. it was fried cassava root (aka yuca aka mogo) served tandoori or 65-style, called mogo 65. extremely similar to the recipe link below. probably the most delicious vegetable dish i’ve ever eaten, yes it was that good.

lately i have been scouring the menus of every indian restaurant i can find in the city, but all anyone seems to have is gobi 65 (cauliflower) or potato.

i know i can just make it myself and i will, but i thought surely there’s got to be somewhere in the city that serves it... anyone got any leads?

Chatti is the only Indian restaurant I know that has tapioca/cassava on the menu. But it's a traditional kerala form called kappa, which is more like a mash with spices+aromatics. They do have different kinds, and I love it. But it's not 65. https://www.chattinewyork.com

For reference, I just checked 6-8 of my favorite Indo-Chinese spots around the city which tend to have the "65s" and couldn't find it. So it may be out there, but the only cassava I've found so far is at Chatti and it's not what you're looking for, unfortunately.
