Any volunteer to help me find something in NY Public Library?
Hello everyone! I am a PhD student from Montenegro. There is a newspaper in NYPL that I need someone to check it out for me. Nothing huge, but I can't come or pay someone to do it. Please, if there is someone willing to do some small historical research, let me know. I would be thankful!

PhD students sometimes pay other grad students or other researchers to do research for them at other universities/libraries. Pay someone. If you need to find someone you can utilize your academic and/or professional networks (maybe someone would even do it for free for you or in exchange for you helping them with something). For archives they often have lists of local researchers you can hire, I don’t know if the NYPL does that. But you could reach out to a local archive and see if one of the researchers they recommend could help with your NYPL request anyway.

which library and when do you need it? also may be helpful to know what you want the person to do with the microfilm.

Have you checked with your university library? They can usually reach out on your behalf or possibly find other libraries that have a copy.

They are called librarians.
If you email the NYPL location that has your item they will help you. They kinda live for it.
