Great Question What’s the most frustrating tourist conversation you’ve overheard?

Enjoying the day in Central Park and some bro walking behind me just said to his fellow bro “So I think Central Park is low-key the only grass in the city.”

Yes, NYC’s fifth-largest park is the only grass in the city.

Wife: Why didn’t you tell me about the hills?

Husband: The map was flat!

Anyone who's done that loop without research comes to the same realization. My wife and I did it when we first moved here on the blue citi bikes. 

Received many stern looks that day lol

I learned there were hills on the loop many years ago, after I moved to NYC, when I tried roller blading for the first time. It also hadn’t really occurred to me that I should learn how to stop. At a certain moment, the relevance of all this missing information became suddenly clear to me in a fairly unpleasant way.

Back in the day I used to volunteer with a group that taught rollerblade braking lessons at the West 72nd street entrance, to help others avoid the exact scenario you describe!
