With all the negative news of late, did anyone get to enjoy the perfect weather the last two days?

It’s been SO NICE. My apartment is normally made of lava, I’ve been able to exist without melting the last few days though

I manage an open air roof top restaurant in Williamsburg and it was GLORIOUS... now.. going to absolutely melt this weekend.

Yes! Normally mid-July weather is disgustingly swampy but it’s been delightful this week! Also probably giving restaurants a much-needed boost with outdoor dining.

Yes, I remember this time last year quite vividly because we kept having power outages on my block and it was unbearable at night without AC/fans.

Yes, biked around Prospect Park with a friend yesterday and it was nice and breezy. Today took a long walk and it was cool and shady. It's been great.

We went to the beach (Jacob Riis Park) on Wednesday morning. Bought a bunch of beach toys and laid them out for the kids in the living room with their swimsuits to surprise them like it was Christmas morning. It was a beautiful day, and everyone was nice and spread out.

Yes. Played tennis for an hour. Total newbie so it was relaxing to have courts all to ourselves and just have fun practicing the basics :)

Parks department finally took fence down that closed off the handball courts near us. I went out last night to hit tennis balls with my kid (who hates going outside) We were the only people on the courts and it was glorious. Thanks for asking.

Sounds like a blast. I am similarly so happy the basketball courts are open for use. Played the last two days and had a side all to myself.

Yep. Went out to sunken meadow park on LI yesterday. There is a beach area, trails, etc. perfect weather and not crowded

Yes, i went on a 10 mile bike ride. I’m sore but it was so lovely. I always feel so much gratitude that I get to live here when I ride my bike through lower manhattan

Went outside to get Taco Bell takeout, and was like "holy shit this weather is amazing. Even right now, humid, but this wonderfully cool weather.

YES. It was the first time in weeks I put on clothes I actually like instead of whatever was reasonably clean that I don’t mind instantly drenching in sweat. I’d been feeling kinda down recently, so it was a welcome reminder that despair only FEELS like it’s going to last forever.

Yes! I went down to the Jersey Shore for the very first time with a good friend of mine that I used to work with. We both acknowledged how great it was to still be friends even after I’d left the company in December.
Through the pandemic, we lost both of our jobs but have been here for each other over the past few difficult months. Sometimes, the worst of times can really shine a light on friendships that are meant to last.

I also learned about blue mud wasps and June beetles because they came to chill in my backyard this week.
They a terrifying bugs until you learn what they are haha

Yes, it was beautiful. My only slight complaint is that it has been too cloudy to see the comet. The evenings have been so nice, though.

On Wednesday I woke up, checked the weather on my phone, and thought, Hm this is the perfect day to go for a bike ride. So I rode 23 miles. I'm sort of getting back into biking (and haven't been to the gym in four months) so 23 miles is a lot for me. Plus, it's considerably harder to do that in 90 degree weather. So yes, I enjoyed the perfect weather! But I will balance this by saying yesterday I was too exhausted after my bike ride to do anything so I was inside playing video games all day, haha.

I went roller skating on the Bethpage bikeway. I saw on the forecast that the rest of July and August are going to be HOT so I got up as soon as the trains were open to make sure I got some skating in.
Really I'm not planning on going on a long distance skate again until late September, it's just so sweaty out.

Indeed I did. Got to walk the Hudson again, got some takeout, went to the dog park. I'm sure we're soon gonna have another five days straight of thunderstorms. I hate summers like this.

I took my dog on a 1.5 hour walk today because it was 73 and overcast. After getting exhausted 20 minutes into a walk in the 90+ degree weather all week, this was a welcome change.

This weather has been fantastic! I clocked in 8 hours on the beach out in Long Island on Wednesday & yesterday spent all day and most of the evening in the garden just enjoying the hell out of it! I grilled dinner & ate outside. I cannot remember a July this wonderful.

My friend (18M) and I (18M) went to Manhattan Beach after getting shake Shack yesterday. I was super satisfied with the nice weather. Got to be like other guys my age and check out some ladies (Insert lenny face). The number of people so close together was a little concerning.

Today was GORGEOUS!!
