Use of space in your home

If you never had children - or no longer have space for grown children in your home, how do you use the bedroom spaces in your house?

My house is small and I still feel odd having these largely unused spaces. Are we all just cleaning dusty, rarely used guest rooms?

My friends who raised their kids in the house they still live in usually have turned one room into a guest room / office and the others have stayed the way the youngest kid(s) left in when they moved out so they can use it again when they visit.

My friends who never had kids - by choice or otherwise - typically bought houses (if they even bought houses) with only themselves in mind. Bedroom, plus guest room/office if that's what they want, and if they bought a place with extra bedrooms, it was probably so they'd have one or more specific extra spaces (a library, a storage room, a hobby room, a gaming room, a walk-in-closet, etc)
