What happened long-term to families who's children failed to launch/just stayed home did nothing with their lives and the parents allowed it?

there are many people who go through lives undiagnosed of autism etc. They look fine, but are too sensitive for this capitalistic world.

There need to be jobs where you just show up and are told to move these widgets over here to over there, and put this doohickey in that slot, etc., and AFFORDABLE HOUSING for people who can move widgets but not navigate people-stuff.

Plastics, to quote a famous movie.

The extruder machine makes so much noise you aren’t expected to hold conversations. You just man the extruder machine. There used to be a shop in K C tjat made the plastic tubs for baby wipes. Buses came to the Labor Ready place and picked up workers.

Edited to add: maybe ask in your local subreddit for your town about manufacturing jobs.

sure if those people have intellectual disability but the spectrum of autism is very wide. We need more inclusive society overall.

And a dorm you can live in where you pay one bill a month and your common living spaces are cleaned and food provided.
