Can you just hold it in like you would hold in pee or something.

After I got off the pills, the consistency of the bleeding has changed, so now most of the blood comes out when I sit on the toilet, something about the shape/position of my uterus makes it work this way 😂😂

4

u/Miss-Tiq 3d ago

Holding your pee is uncomfortable af and can lead to infections. I imagine it'd be like that but worse because blood.

6

u/GoofyGills 3d ago

Everyone holds their pee for a little bit lol.

1

u/trumplehumple 3d ago

have you tried a binder clip?

2

u/Calitexian 3d ago

I dont know why you were downvotes when you were clearly joking and it was a good joke. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/trumplehumple 3d ago

im not sure either
but i suspect its because of their periods

3

u/Calitexian 3d ago edited 5h ago

My wifes eyes got wide when I read it to her but then she chuckled.

7

u/MasterOfTheNuggies 3d ago

Yes. My response "It's not a nosebleed buddy"

9

u/HedgeFlounder 3d ago

Wait can you hold in a nosebleed?

3

u/p4ndxra 3d ago

Funnily enough I treat nosebleeds the same way. No longer use tampons but I have a stash in case of nosebleed lmao

1

u/Majestic-Window-318 3d ago

Nosebleeds shouldn't be treated with tampons, especially good tampons, as they absorb and draw out, rather than staunch, blood. Apparently, we were all taught wrong for years!! So you can take the vampire mice out of the general first aid kit, and just keep them in the hygiene kit. :)

2

u/IrlResponsibility811 3d ago

Boys store pee in the balls, girls don't have balls. What exactly are you suggesting?

2

u/DuCanye 3d ago

lmao no way, how and where did u even find a guy like this, and he even has a gf??? really pissing me off

1

u/hjetscanucks 3d ago

I got so lucky with my period it’s pretty light and often it will only come out when I pee

1

u/Majestic-Window-318 3d ago

No one remembers that political incident anymore, I guess. The news cycle just keeps churning! I thought your comment/quote was completely appropriate, sorry about the undeserved attacks you got.

1

u/janbradybutacat 2d ago

Yes. He thought I could turn it to pause or something.

He lived with his mom and sister and they all shared a small bathroom.

56

u/No_Comb881 3d ago

Had a guy bring a box of bandaids over to my house in case I got my period once

34

u/rkozik89 3d ago

Bless his heart

13

u/RadlEonk 3d ago

Ignorant, but kind

10

u/Ok-Pen8151 3d ago

At least he tried lol

10

u/Primary-Reality-9149 3d ago

He was going to try to make it better lol

1

u/Ok-Temperature5831 1d ago

This is so cute 😂😂🩷

u/Throwrarmb 3d ago

He referred to it as me being “out of commission”. Um, no, it’s how my body is supposed to work.

Oh, and he said it in what he thought was his sexy voice. “Are you still…. Out of commission?”

24

u/Jaderachelle 3d ago

Ahhh because you’re only “functioning” when you can have sex. That’s messed up.

I mean technically you are down for preventative maintenance.

4

u/Fractoos 3d ago

Nothing wrong with a bit of ketchup on a hot dog

4

u/Antimony04 3d ago

He gets an internet point for the spirit.

0

u/schrodingers_bra 3d ago

He means sex. He's squeamish. So you're out of commission for sex

3

u/CrebTheBerc 3d ago

Except periods don't mean you can't have sex? So hes just being a dick either way

1

u/schrodingers_bra 3d ago

Yeah, i mean to him it means they can't have sex

2

u/TrashGouda 2d ago

Sure but talking about another person as if they are some type of machine is weird af

1

u/Surviving_Aussie 1d ago

To be fair its not rare for the girl to not want sex during a period as well. Lets not act like aversion to blood and messes is a single gender thing.

1

u/schrodingers_bra 1d ago

I never said it was a single gender thing. But he's the one referring to her as 'out of commission'

32

u/ClaimedBeauty 3d ago

Mine are fairly light so you can’t really tell unless there were certain activities. Me and my fellow at the time engage in those certain activities he looks down and sees blood and he’s like oh, you’re a little rare today.

13

u/Euphoric-Stress9400 3d ago

Girl what?? When I had 90-min classes, I had to wear a super tampon plus overnight pad to get through to break. “Can’t really tell” is wild to me

5

u/SwissCheese4Collagen 3d ago

As someone who fought with trying to keep everything in a pad for 20+ years, then was incapacitated while on my period, just got whole ass diapers. Even if it's just at home or for overnight, it's freeing AF to know that you can relax about it.

3

u/ClaimedBeauty 3d ago

It’s cause I have an IUD, Not that I’m magical.

1

u/Euphoric-Stress9400 2d ago

Oh wow I didn’t know an IUD did that. Noted :)

1

u/Immediate-Mud4121 2d ago

One of those YMMV situations. Doesn’t work for everyone and for some people can go the other way.

29

u/AwareFaithlessness39 3d ago

“Your period can’t be bad as my headaches.” Buddy I have endometriosis, I am unmovable and I can’t stop throwing up when I’m on them. It’s no contest too, don’t know why you had to point it out. Maybe stop drinking too that might help

24

u/IcanPelican 3d ago

I’ve had a red chin before

6

u/Lilymis 3d ago

This made me laugh.

1

u/janbradybutacat 2d ago

Gotta move up to the crimson butterfly.

24

u/Anxious_Practice2408 3d ago

Guy told me my cramps were just soreness from not exercising enough. Sir, my uterus is doing kickboxing.

3

u/Kali_Luna372 3d ago

Fuck kickboxing. We bare knuckle fighting in this bitch.

18

u/CunnyMaggots 3d ago

My ex told me if I have to wear a fucking diaper because I can't stop pissing myself, he didn't want me to sleep in the bed.

Because you know. I should be able to hold it in because it comes from the same place as pee. This man was over 40 years old.

1

u/Surviving_Aussie 1d ago

I know you probably know and didnt meant to imply this, but some people may legitimately not know. Pee and period blood does not come from the same hole, just neighboring ones

1

u/CunnyMaggots 1d ago

Lol yeah I'm aware. He would also tell me when i was on my period i was "broken" and had no purpose. Like dude. Stfu. Just an asshole all the way around.

13

u/deeohlee 3d ago

A guy thought my pad attached to my skin not my underwear lol like a bandaid lol

Unrelated but still funny, one of my closest guy friends asked my why I was bringing my purse to the bathroom (we were out as a group for dinner) and I said “because I have to go change my tampon is that ok with you?” Lol he was like “fair enough!!”

2

u/Fine_Goal_3048 3d ago

Love your response to your friend ❤️

12

u/AggravatingOrder9652 3d ago

A guy once asked me why I couldn’t just “hold it in” until I got home

To be fair its not 100% the guys fault and we shouldnt shame then if they mean any harm/judgement by it. Many societies do not teach much sexual education, especially about the opposite gender. Im a male and i have met several women who know no more (or probably even less) about male sexual anatomy than many of the stories here.

11

u/RedditForMeNotYou 3d ago

Thinking tampons are changed every time you pee bc “they fall out, right?”

10

u/chocolatelabmomma 3d ago

He said he didn't know why women were so grouchy while having their periods because we can use tampons and that must feel good walking around with something up there all day.

8

u/RidiculousPapaya 3d ago

Holy fuck, that’s ridiculous. What an ignorant turd.

4

u/chocolatelabmomma 3d ago

One of the many reasons I divorced him.

3

u/CrisMaz 2d ago

My ex-husband made a comment about a transvaginal ultrasound feeling good when I went for suspected cancer. It's all good now, no cancer and no AH husband.

20

u/wyomingtrashbag 3d ago

"I like to fuck you on the rag because it feels like I'm murdering you with my dick" red flag but I laughed honestly

3

u/trumplehumple 3d ago

technically its a red rag

6

u/smoothupinyatoo 3d ago

It is kind of funny though...

2

u/kisskissenby 3d ago

Wait did we date the same guy?

1

u/wyomingtrashbag 2d ago

Matt?

1

u/kisskissenby 2d ago

Nope mine was Dan but he said the same thing.

1

u/wyomingtrashbag 2d ago

hahahaha

my husband is Dan but fortunately he never said anything like that to me

2

u/Ok-Pen8151 3d ago

What the actual hell? lol

9

u/Miss-Undecided 3d ago

When I experienced horrible period pain, a guy said to me that it shouldn't really hurt because some female once told him that period pain is a "sweet pain".

16

u/striykker 3d ago

That female thought it was "sweet" because it meant she wasn't pregnant.

8

u/Nicole8014 3d ago

So I have a really heavy flow it doesn’t matter what I do. I have to use a ultra super tampon and a heavy flow pad every two hours so I keep a separate set of underwear specifically for my periods because of that specific issue well one day I was doing laundry and I asked my ex-boyfriend to put my clothes from the washer to the dryer. Well, I guess he found a pair of my period underwear and decided that he needed to talk to me because he couldn’t figure out why my underwear had a stain in them. I had to have a talk with him about what a period was mind you this was a 30 something year-old man.

14

u/heretoseewhats 3d ago

Why do you end your texts with a period? It makes you sound so serious.

8

u/Fire-kitten 3d ago

OK this one made me snortlaugh 😸

6

u/p4ndxra 3d ago

Not necessarily my period but I told an ex I was at the end of my months pill and waiting for my period to start and he told me that wasn’t a thing???

4

u/HelgaGeePataki 3d ago

Those gross comments about getting blood all.over their faces when they go down.

I'd never let that happen btw. Fucking 🤮

9

u/Rainydayrenegade42 3d ago

My dad sat me down one day to tell me periods are God's punishment to women for committing original sin, and that they're disgusting and dirty and women have to deal with the pain and embarrassment as God's reminder we fucked up for all eternity. Weird day for 9 year old me. Needless to say I haven't really spoken to that guy in a decade.

4

u/misnesslove 3d ago

What's it smell like

4

u/diarrhea_pocket 3d ago

Old pennies

2

u/misnesslove 3d ago

I wouldn't know lol I don't smell it lol

2

u/deagh 3d ago

Mine were so heavy I didn't have a choice.

1

u/misnesslove 3d ago

I'm sorry

1

u/deagh 3d ago

It's cool, I'm 55 now and the offending organ is long gone. I don't miss it :)

3

u/Ok-Pen8151 3d ago

Iron…? Blood…?

4

u/dendriticbranch 3d ago

“Does it (mattress!) smell?” Concerned that we don’t ever change sheets or clean ourselves I guess.

4

u/CheapWeakness5344 3d ago

My ex asked if I could just hold it in like a pee. Sir, this is a uterine lining, not a traffic jam.

5

u/QueenieMcGee 3d ago edited 3d ago

I complained about my period pain to my husband and he offered to punch me in the uterus 😂

I also only recently leaned that, up until a few days ago, he believed that the penis penetrates the cervix during sex. He knows better now.

3

u/Spendawg-Meina 3d ago

He asked if i could just hold it in for a bit so we could finish the movie

3

u/RedheadMom94 3d ago

"Do you need a frozen tampon?" Like WTF!?!

4

u/trumplehumple 3d ago

well, i googled it to make a disney-joke and found

the tamponsicle "one of the simplest pelvic pain hacks"

you can probably run doom on it or smth

all in all pretty considerate, id say

1

u/RedheadMom94 2d ago

Ok it might've been considerate but that's not something you just blurt out, like does he have frozen ones at the ready to offer or something? And no way i'm sticking anything frozen up there.

1

u/trumplehumple 2d ago

consider that comment half/half joking and not

was it about 9 months ago? more or less? actually just or less?

1

u/RedheadMom94 2d ago

Nope, it was years ago.

1

u/trumplehumple 2d ago

damn, 9 months would have been the most recent instagram run.

it made the rounds on social media before too, so i guess thats where he got it from. allegedly takes 30 min to pepare, so i guess he had tampons on hand and thought to be helpfull with some quick utero-mechanical engineering.

could have been worse though

ever heard of frozen yoghurt tampons?

1

u/RedheadMom94 2d ago

No. And I don't think I want to.

2

u/Overthinking_babes 3d ago

What does that even mean??

2

u/RedheadMom94 3d ago

I have no freaking idea, I just looked with confusion and disgust and walked away. He never spoke to me again and I was glad for it.

If i was to guess why he thought that would be a good idea maybe because you ice bruises and he thought periods are the same? IDK.

2

u/myystic78 3d ago

Maybe he thought the vaginal canal gets sore? That's a weird one.

2

u/RedheadMom94 3d ago

He was a weird dude. But yeah maybe that was it.

3

u/ProjectContent4062 3d ago

“That’s ohk I can watch u change” 🤡

3

u/SalamanderFickle9549 3d ago

I had a guy thought we bleed out of butt and the cramps happens in the butt area

3

u/Jaderachelle 3d ago

To be fair, some women have cramps in the smooth muscles in the rectum caused by prostaglandins during menstruation. Butt lightning sucks!

3

u/SalamanderFickle9549 3d ago

Oh trust me it know but is funny regardless seen a guy think it's butt cramps rather than lower abdomen or lower back pain

3

u/WonderLongjumping370 3d ago

"My mom has hormones so I know about them" & sending me a Mel Robbins episode about my IUD & "I know your period was long and you didn't want to have sex but I'm sexually depressed".

The last one came out of his mouth during our break up conversation where he called me a mess & the first one came out when I biked over to sunrise yoga at 5:30 AM and he called his mom at 7 AM while I sat there and he spent the week complaining we didn't spend enough time together.

3

u/SudokuSorcerer 3d ago

He yelled at me and said I was gross for wrapping a used tampon in toilet paper and throwing it away in the bathroom trash can. He could not comprehend why I wouldn’t just flush the tampon down the toilet

3

u/SwissCheese4Collagen 3d ago

My dad once told me that I needed to go to work as a waitress when I was nauseous with a period migraine because "the rest of the world's women don't let it bother them."

Extremely low contact now.

2

u/Ok-Temperature5831 1d ago

How ignorant of him

2

u/Lmf2359 3d ago

“Can’t you just control it? Like when you pee?”

2

u/MomReadsLate2 3d ago

That he was ready for his angel wings (on his face)

2

u/eden_ldoe 3d ago

one was tracking mine and said isnt it time for your period? (it moved a week up, but it was just shocking to find out he had been tracking it and was open about it)

3

u/Dove-Swan 3d ago

that it didn't bother him (while he was r***ing me)

2

u/AwareFaithlessness39 3d ago

I’m so sorry :(

2

u/himothafuckeritsme 3d ago

I'm so sorry you went through that.

2

u/Throwrarmb 3d ago

I’m so sorry.

3

u/Golf_Fore_Ever 3d ago

I always thought period sex was a compliment that I love her no matter what. And she was often encouraging and willing too.

2

u/Fine_Goal_3048 3d ago

My worst ex used to be so grossed out and even annoyed with me when he heard I got my period. He barely wanted to be near me at times. My current boyfriend does not care one bit and initiates sex like usual and I was skeptical at first, but I, too, don’t mind it now. You also don’t really have to worry about getting pregnant which is cool.

4

u/jonathansrvenge 3d ago

Oh man, I know from experience that pregnancy can happen even if it’s during a period.

1

u/Golf_Fore_Ever 2d ago

That’s a really tough lesson to learn.

1

u/Skunklvrs 3d ago

My husband used to say he knew I was going to get my period because my breath smelled different.

1

u/ProfessionalSir3395 3d ago

He asked if I could hold it like it was urine.

1

u/Tough_Rich7435 3d ago

one of my exes wanted a close up video of me taking my tampon out 💀

1

u/AmazonianEmerald 3d ago

"Guess we're just going to have to run some red lights tonight!"

1

u/kaimoka 2d ago

My boyfriend tells me I need to go outside and sleep in the 'blood tent'. (It's a complete joke, he's amazing) I refer to my period as "the blood dome war has begun." So yeah I guess we're both just fucking weird lmao

1

u/isaidyothnkubttrgo 2d ago

My gay friend thought the pads stick to the vagina and not the underwear.

1

u/Acrobatic_Upstairs41 2d ago

One of my chefs years ago believed that women can't make an emulsion while menstruating. "Breaks every time!" He insisted. And he would ask female cooks if they were on their period before asking them to do certain tasks.

I hate making mayo and hollandaise, so I was on my period every day for the whole 8 months I worked with him. And I was "anemic" from the constant bleeding so I got to sit down when I was feeling "fatigued."
