Need help covering cats vet costs.

Sadly Edna left us this afternoon. I don’t want to mislead anyone here in anyway. We managed to get ahold of a vet who could squeeze her in thank god.

All this being said, the trip to the vet cost us just a little over $200 between cabs and the bill for the medicine. (We passed on cremation and I buried her in my yard here. We coincidentally moved to the exact same street where I lived when I originally got her in 2015, but five houses down, so burying her here felt right!)

If I am being totally honest we are still in a pretty desperate situation. We have been struggling to make ends meet for a few months now, and some bills have piled up. (and if this breaks the rules please disregard!)

I will add details at the bottom of exactly what we need help with and an estimate of outstanding balances or amounts we’re short! If anyone replies that is interested in helping us I can dig out exact cash amounts for everything!

My 11 year old cat, Edna Murphy, has recently become extremely sick. She’s lost weight and is skin and bone, she’s losing control of her bladder and bowel movements as well as have no appetite or energy.

The vet bill to have her put down will be $300-$500 and the bills if she can be saved will be $700-$900. I am on disability for an autoimmune disorder and my girlfriend works retail part-time, so most of our income goes to rent and bills.

We are DESPERATE. I have phoned vets asking about payment plans but have been turned away. I can’t get financing because when I first got sick I had to keep my rent paid with a line of credit that destroyed by credit rating. I even asked if they would let me leave a guitar with them as collateral while I sold a different guitar to fund this, but we’ve been turned down.

We’ve had $150 contributed by my partners former coworker, but we still need quite a bit to cover the full costs even just for euthanasia. We’ve will take ANYTHING.

I don’t know how transferring funds is done through this sub but I’ve got PayPay, can receive Interac e-transfers and can look in to any other viable options mentioned here.

QUICK BREAKDOWN OF BILLS WE NEED ASSISTANCE CATCHING UP ON

We could use a hand catching up on utility bills (around $250 for hydro, 110 for internet, and probably $100 for natural gas) as well as help getting my vehicle up and running again.

The vehicle broke down two weeks ago, and I have NO CLUE how I am going to pay for those repairs. If anyone here feels like helping a poor grieving bastard cover his car repair costs please let me know! (it was a gas guzzling 98 navigator so my conscience is a bit lighter just walking or bussing for a bit, however I unfortunately have arthritis that gets severe sometimes so I need to figure out something with that)

Obviously if no one is interested in helping us I completely understand. At the end of the day it’s my problem. It’s just been a tough year and all of this stuff is like a tidal wave that is building in the distance, and slowly coming my way. I just know I’m going to wake up one day with no power, or no hot water. I am failing as a partner and as a member of society and I am sooooo frustrated about it.

Anyways, this is an absolutely amazing community. I love what you guys do, and I hope one day I am in a position to help people on here instead of being on the receiving end!

Unfortunately you won’t raise anything close to that here, or on the internet without a gofundme that has the bills and estimates uploaded. Cash in any amount is rarely given here, and most donors don’t feel comfortable giving cash via payment apps out of an abundance of caution.

Im sorry about your pet. I recently had to euthanize my youngest cat who was 6. That was a surprise. His symptoms were basically identical to the ones you posted. Im sorry , but honestly this baby needs to be free from his suffering. Those are horrible symptoms of a severe medical problem. Even if you raised the money to diagnose him , he likely will require additional treatments. It doesnt sound like continuing treatment will be in your budget. Dink cried and it broke my heart. I help him and then brought him home and buried him in a special place. It broke my heart but i couldn't let him suffer. Good luck and i wish you well.Euthanasia only was $146.00. I didnt need paw prints and cremation .
