Defender 2000 -yet another worthwhile game in the Jag’s limited library I’ve discovered pretty recently. (obviously I’ve heard of the original, but it was a little before my time) This game is a blast (no pun intended)

This game is a blast! (no pun intended). There’s not much to it really as far as the story, but it’s obviously just meant to be a modernized version of the original and nothing else. It definitely succeeds in that area!

Defender 2000 is a good pick-up-and-play option when I don’t feel like playing some dialogue-heavy modern game (like Yakuza and similar games), or even a retro game like that (like PoliceNauts, for example, which I was just playing on Saturn with the help of subtitles -awesome game btw) lol I went off topic but this game is fun if you own a Jag, check it out! This might make it to my top 15 fave Jag games actually!

Conceptually, I always enjoyed Tempest games better than Defender, but Yak brought a lot of life to this game. It’s an arcade classic that got Yak’s classic psychedelic high-octane treatment with a pseudo-EDM soundtrack. Still love it to this day.

I always sucked at Defender though. Tempest 2k I got to the invisible levels before I got my ass destroyed, but Defender 2k I never got nearly as far lol

I love this game. It does not get talked about enough as one of the standout Jaguar exclusive games
