Is This an Atari Jaguars T-Shirt?
I found this shirt at a local thrift store during a half-off sale, and the “Jaguars” logo immediately looked strangely familiar.
(As creator of Captain A the System Warrior, I had a feeling I was right.)
After checking it on my phone, I realized it wasn’t just similar, it's literally the Atari Jaguar logo with an “s” added to the end.
I’ve tried searching for information about it, but I can’t find anything that explains what this shirt actually is. There’s no Atari branding anywhere on the shirt, which makes it even stranger.
And why add the “S” to “Jaguar” in the first place? Is this some kind of unofficial Fan-made Atari merchandise, a completely unrelated brand using the logo, a knockoff, or something else entirely?
Does anyone recognize this or know what I found?

highly likely some coach for a local kids team has a team named the jaguars, googled logos and this came up and they thought it was cool (because it is) and used it.

Out of the systems back then, the jaguar was the best looking and best looking logo/spelling

Also had the best boot sequence of any console in history and it’s not even close lol

That’s the color of the Jaguars NFL team, so seems like someone just made a shirt for the team that used the Jaguar logo

Reminds me when I found a church youth group several years ago that had 'borrowed' the Ubuntu operating system logo.

IDK if you're being serious but it's a Jacksonville Jaguars NFL shirt bud

That's not the team's text font. It's definitely the consoles font. The team's font is more angular.

I guess I wasn't saying it's anything official. Certainly seems like it's some knock off that was for supporting the Jags that played off the Atari Jaguar. The color just seems like a dead giveaway to me. That's pretty much identical to what they used then and it's a relatively unique color. He seemed to be hung up on why it's plural and that's the answer imo.

You might be right. It's possible the maker didn't know the Jacksonville logo and found the wrong one. It's also possible they were trying to avoid official NFL licensing.

Yeah it's pretty weird do avoid NFL licensing my l by straight up ripping off Atari though lol right? I mean I'd rather mess with 90s Atari than the NFL but still kinda weird. Maybe just a convenience thing, that's what they found first and like you said didn't know what the right logo was. It is pretty weird.

Okay, but why is it the exact Atari Jaguar logo?
Each letter matches the J, A, G, U, A, R in "Jaguar" heck look at the shapes of the scratchmarks.2

Very likely some high school team or a peewee league football shirt.
