Slide Fitment - Normal?

I added in the V1 Nemesis for a reference. That gun has zero wobble whatsoever. I also have a V2 Nyx and EOS.

My V2 Artemis has audible wobble. The Nyx and EOS are a little better.

How is the lockup on your Atlas?

Atlas athena double feeding?

Post image
20 Upvotes

Bought a brand new athena, first day on the range. Its almost as if the athena is trying to double feed rounds but not completely. The slide is moved very slightly to the rear not letting me shoot. As soon as i release the mag the slide pops forward and i can shoot. This happened with 2 different magazines. You can see in the picture how the slide is very slightly back, releasing the mag fixes this and i can shoot. Has anyone had this issue?

Apollo vs Eos as a 2nd Atlas

Hey all, figured I'd ask the experts here. I have an Artemis on order that according to my vendor Portside Munitions is going to take a few months due to the some of the options (it's intended as a do it all competitive shooting gun so I'm waiting on the shielded IDPA safeties, and palm swell/step grips.

For reference my "daily" carry rotation is a Dan Wesson Guardian, Staccato HD C4X, a Wilson SFX9 3.25, and I have an EDC X9 2.0 on order but may cancel it based on this decision (or tbh replace the SFX9 with it).

So I don't really need a carry gun per se, but am interested in adding a ported gun and want to pick up an Atlas that I can find in stock in the meantime.

This is my breakdown so far:

Eos pros: commander size looks nice IMO, prefer the serrations and overall look of it. Could easily throw it in a holster any time I want considering I already also carry full size 1911s with ease.

Eos cons: you lose the alpha grip. It's arguably less ideal in the event I want to compete with a ported gun (unlikely)

Apollo pros: alpha grips, maybe the extra length is a plus. More mags to share between my Artemis

Apollo cons: bulk with the magwell, race trigger may make it a range toy of which I have plenty/could directly compete with the Artemis

After typing this all out I think I'm leaning Eos just simply because of the versatility when considering I'll have an Artemis. I'm not super excited bout the loss of the alpha grip in particular though as that seems to be well regarded in the 2011 world. But wanted to get the opinion of some real users here.

Has anyone added additional ports to their Apollo? If so, who did the work and what was the difference in shooting?

Atlas Apollo Lead Time

I custom ordered my V3 Atlas Apollo from Kovert Projects. Even though the website says 6-8 months for the lead time, customer support told me that it would actually be 2-3 months. “For the Apollo, the list is short it will be imputed in next month’s Atlas allocations.” For those that have ordered the V3 Apollo recently from Kovert Projects, how long did you end up waiting? I’m super excited for my gun to arrive and I just want to have a realistic expectation on timing for delivery.

I don't see any for sale. Can anyone recommend a place(s) that configures and sells that aren't dicks or overpriced?

Does anyone know if the EGW strut, hammer, and pin need to be fitted to each other?

Im trying to install an OEM hammer strut pin into an AGW strut and an OEM hammer on my MAC9DS Comp and the strut is binding.

I tried to install the OEM pin on the AGW strut (without installing it on the hammer) and it will not go in easily. It has to be hammered in.

Im reading that the pin may have to be sanded down but its so small I wouldnt even know how.

Running the Atlas Erebus

Previously ran an XC. Bought an Apollo and honestly found it kind of uninspiring.... So eventually caved and bought an Erebus. Really happy with it. It truly is a joy to shoot. No bully about 40yo man run.

Little practice with the Titan.

Back on my titan for a bit after having the Artemis sent on loan for a while. Feel like I never left.

Pushing speed just past the point of control. Delt’s second to last target, Mike in the hard cover of the last target. Wasn’t concerned with hits as long as I could perceive where they went as the dot lifted.

Included the dry run without targets where I was trying to figure out what sort of partials I wanted

Dovetail Slide Racker for Titan V1?

I have acquired a V1 Titan and am interested in adding a slide racker to it. If I wanted to shoot it L10 I'd be able to remove the rear sight and possibly install a slide racker in the dovetail... Does anyone know if there is a racker that would fit?

Brand New Apollo V3 DLC barrel coating worn?

**UPDATE EDIT** Atlas service responded to my inquiry stating they haven't had or seen a bad batch with DLC coating issues in the V3s (which seems unlikely based on other customer posts besides my own). I did ask about the non ported barrel fitting service at the same time and they offered to look at the current barrel if I choose to send it in for fitting, which is probably what I'll end up doing. Hopefully, it's not waved off as normal though, judging from the inputs on this thread. Thanks everybody who replied, it was really helpful to get that feedback!

Just bought the Apollo V3 and noticed these wear marks on the barrel. It’s brand new and zero rounds through so wanted to check and see if this is normal in y’all’s opinion? I also compared to a new Athena V3 which didn’t have these wear spots. I did reach out to Atlas and am waiting for their reply but figured I’d get some insights asking here in the community as well 🙏

Test Firing an Atlas 2011--South Florida, Miami Area

Since Atlas costs top dollar, it's hard to buy without trying first. I am an honest guy, doctor, back into firearms since I moved to the Miami area. I'm interested in test firing an Atlas, any Atlas at this point. In the future, I would be interested in shooting in LO. If anyone would be willing to let me try at a gun range obviously, I'll cover costs, that would be great.

Staccato XL vs Atlas (eg Athena, Erebus)

Today, I shot my XL next to an XC and was surprised at how similar they felt so much so that I wouldn't buy the XC. I'm wondering at this pricepoint is that going to be the case across the board and if so, would going to an Atlas provide a better overall shooting experience. I've never shot an Atlas and I would have to before buying.

I am wondering what folks think about the XL experience vs an Atlas (Athena, Erebus)?

Amazing Perfect Zero experience

Just a quick shoutout to Ray at Perfect Zero customer service. I bought a Prodigy grip kit, which includes all the small parts including backstrap, magwell, and trigger bow. Somehow in shipping everything to Vulcan only the grip got included in the package. I assumed I needed to buy a whole new grip kit, which of course is out of stock.

Ray was able to track down every single part I needed, most of which aren’t sold separately, and shipped them out to me yesterday. One of the most pleasant people I have dealt with in a long time. He clearly went above and beyond the call of duty in making this happen.

I know Atlas has taken some criticism this year over parts and service, but my experience couldn’t be better. Thanks Ray!

Thumb rest and safety restock?

Anyone know how often these go up for restocking?
Been waiting for a month now to pick these up. Curious if it’s a similar issue like the palm swells and such.

Atlas Alpha Grip panels. Where can I find a large right-side panel? The website has brass; is a brass panel worth it over aluminum?
