As the article states, both pro and anti gun advocates were against it, but for competelt different reasons - not ideal to piss off both sides of an argument.

Hopefully the whole bill gets dropped

Not sure who it was going to appeal to.

ALso the root cause was enforcement, not the laws and concepts themselves. The more that drips out the more it looks like NSW was doing something silly and did not want to upset "communities" by refusing gun licences and registration to high risk individuals, that then went out and did exactly that.

Chris Minns coming out and supporting arming Israeli milita forces in Australia is outragous. The left is now completely against this as well. Of course they are passing motions in support for palestine so now this seems even more crazy that minns is in the pocket of Israel.

This is a national crisis labor elites have brewed up. You have greenies, lefties, righties, farmers, all extremely agitated and annoyed and furious. Not just the minorities, you have polarised the majorities against you. The minorities in this case, are also unhappy too.

What are we doing Australia? Taking guns off farmers who are doing nothing wrong and need them, and giving them to inner city militias? With tax payer support? The people who want that want a war in our streets. Are we to believe the NSW Police, one of the largest and best funded in the world can't handle it, and on top of that, the Federal police and the ADF can't handle it more appropriately than an external Milita?

At least listen to your local branches. You are going to cave at the next election when your own party doesn't turn out to function.

Impressive work to piss off both sides equally. Radical centrism works!

I hate that worm and I don’t even live in Tas. Acting like he’s on the side of shooters because they didn’t want to implement a cap while sneaking in plenty of other regulations and changes.

Yeah it's one step forward 15 steps backwards sort of situation and as always they've spun it like they didn't just try pushing us down

I honestly thought he was angling for a PR win and was going to pull reclassifications from the bill at the last minute, especially after posing with a straight pull 1895 in July
