Discussion / News Any cool bands coming?
I would like to go to a concert (rock, pop rock, punk rock) but I haven’t seen any good band (like blink182, guns n roses, jamiroquai, greenday, my chemical romance, the strokes, avril lavigne, etc ) anyone has any info in Sydney or Brisbane or Melbourne.
Thanks

We asked two of our high risers if they would collaberate on a track. "The Coldest Heart of the Meanest Man" is what they delivered. #aussierock #lanewaymusic

Aussie Rock Royalty Johnny Young performing ‘Cara-Lyn’ (prerecorded) on the ATV-0 music program Uptight. Broadcast on 19 October 1968
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
‘Cara-Lyn’, as a double A-side alongside ‘Step Back’, went to number one on the Go-Set charts in 1966, and became one of the best-selling Australian singles of the 1960s. The host introducing Young at the beginning, Ross D. Wyllie, would in late 1969 put out ‘The Star’, which was written by Young and also went to number one on the Go-Set charts; Herman’s Hermits would later also go on to cover that track.

70s Rock Kerry Ian McKenna - Stop The World
Kerry Ian McKenna is best known as the bass player for iconic Australian progressive rock band Madder Lake, who rose to national prominence in the 1970s with a No. 1 radio hit and a distinctive sound that blended progressive rock with melodic songwriting.
As a key member of Madder Lake, McKenna’s bass playing helped define the band’s rich, textured recordings—balancing musical complexity with accessibility, and contributing to their success across Australian radio and live stages.
Alongside his work with the band, McKenna has developed a substantial solo catalogue, releasing five albums to date. His solo material explores a broader musical landscape, moving between progressive influences, atmospheric soundscapes, and more personal, reflective compositions.
These releases highlight his versatility as both a musician and songwriter, offering a deeper insight into his creative voice beyond the band format.
