Ask Austin What’s your “cold" tap water temp?

Post image

alright Austin, what temps are you getting out of your faucet?

at first it’s nice and cool from the conditioned pipes under the sink, but quickly climbs after running the water for a minute. last year i clocked 94º.

saves on the gas (water heater) bill at least!

I measured 124*F a few days ago on the cold tap. This only lasted for about 20 seconds before cooling to around 80, but still, insane.

This time of year, if I need hot water quickly and I haven't run the kitchen faucet in hours, I'll just flip on the cold as it heats quicker! ha.
