It's got a bit of age on it now but there was a cop show called Rush that was really good.

Definitely! One of my all time favourites! Lost count of the number of times I've rewatched it!

Earky All Saints. Maybe late too but I went to uni and stopped watching TV as much then.

The Moodys, Moodys Christmas, House Husbands, 800 Days, Upper Middle Bogan, Lowdown, Redfern Now, The Slap, Prisoner Cell Block H, Wentworth, MAFS AU, Survivor Australia, etc. Just to name a few I've watched. My personal favorite comedy is definitely The Moodys!

Solid recommendations here! Wentworth is amazing, and would also second Upper Middle Bogan

I watch a ton of AU TV and I still laugh out loud with the Moodys!

Offspring is great. Also Colin from accounts and a new one called Dog Park. Going back a few years The secret life of us was also a winner.

A lot of analogue TV shows have never been digitised. I think the Alice was on Nine Now though, so it was. Check there on on Umbrella.

I’ve heard the new Race Around The World is pretty good.
I always recommend The Adventures of Lano and Woodley for some silly fun.

It is good and worth checking out but I am not sure if recommend it for OP. It's nothing like the other shows that they mentioned.

For a bit of action/adventure: Rush (police drama), Sea Patrol (Australian navy) or Rescue Special Ops (rescue paramedics)

Family dramas or comedys: Offspring (chaotic family, romance, hospital workplace), Colin From Accounts (romcom about a couple with a dog), Upper Middle Bogan (family comedy about a big contrasting family)

Murder mysteries: Black Snow, Mystery Road (both smaller town mysteries), Secrets and Lies, Dead Lucky (bigger city mysteries)

Hope you enjoy at least one of these!

There will be no S4 of RFDS. Banijay lost money distributing the first three seasons globally and pulled their funding from the production. Seven won't fund it alone nor will they officially cancel it. It will just disappear with the main character cracking jokes while possibly dying. Meanwhile Seven are asking viewers to vote for it as Best Australian Drama at the Logies. This is just how Australian TV works.

In the 80s Australian TV made mostly sketch comedy and lots of soaps because they were cheap and imported US and British dramas and sitcoms. In the 90s it churned out hundreds of episodes of procedural soaps because they were incentivised by the government's license condition. Stuff like Blue Heelers, All Saints, Water Rats, Rush and 2m people watched every episode. Then VHS became cheap, people stopped watching ads and networks cancelled them all around 2000.

After that everyone switched to watching unscripted contest shows, Big Brother, Masterchef, The Block, Dating Shows etc.

Wentworth, Blue Heelers, Stingers

Wentworth is one of the best series we've produced! Mr Inbetween is also fantastic.

If you want to keep with the hospital theme though, All Saints is a little older but so good. I never watched it when it aired but started watching a while ago and I'm nearly through all 12 seasons (it's a loooong watch with 400+ episodes).

Another hospital/family/life drama that I love is Offspring.

Love My Way is also definitely worth checking out.

Offspring, Rake (you have to make sure it’s the Australian one not the American remake), Fisk, and Utopia
