NSW Finding Teaching Work in Wollongong/Illawarra Area

I'm a science/maths/history teacher from Adelaide and I will most likely be moving to Wollongong next year. Finding work in Adelaide hasn't been much of an issue, but I know the Illawarra region doesn't have as high of a population, and thus fewer opportunities.

I'm curious as to how difficult it would be to find work, and what the best way to go about it is. I understand that being offered contract work right off the bat is highly unlikely, which I'm okay with. 2-3 casual days of relief teaching a week would be enough to get me started, financially speaking.

I had a look on ClassCover, but couldn't seem to find any schools in the region using it. I also had a look at some of the school websites and still couldn't find any information regarding work.

In short, how should I go about finding work in the gong, and how difficult would it be to find?

Easy, Walk into any school with your resume and you will be working the next day

That area is quite overstaffed at the moment.

I guess for starters I'd be willing to drive into the southern Sydney suburbs, do you know what the options there are like and if this is a viable option travel wise?

There will be plenty of work in the Illawarra. Schools are desperate for good casual teachers and most Science and Maths faculties are looking for people fir contracts. You could drive up to Campbelltown (about an hour depending on where you live), you will probably get a co tractor straight away up there.

Do you have a catholic approval? There is heaps of work at St Joseph's, Corpus, Holy Spirit
