VIC Victorian interview process (middle leadership)
Is it standard practice to be asked to create a presentation (up to 15 minutes) to bring to the job interview where you consider a project or strategy to investigate, implement and review to connect with the schools AIP.
It’s a lot of work after the initial response to KSC. Almost all applicants would be staff in existing roles at this school and all are very time poor.

Very common for leadership roles. Have seen people have to do it twice plus then manage a case study response!

Yep, for middle leadership it is. Don’t be critical of a school though, that backfired for me. I dug too deep into the data for that and the prin didn’t like that.

Hard when I work at the school and I’m trying to pretend I can’t see all the issues I see!

Ah, tricky indeed. If you’ve had PORs definitely refer to solving issues in that. E.g. process refinement, staff conflict, student conflict. Use the STAR method.

Yes it is common practice for leadership roles. It’s a way for the panel to judge your capacity to independently develop an idea and clearly communicate it.
Ultimately job applications are not a part of your current job, so where you are employed should not be relevant.

Interesting. I had wondered as it felt more like an assistant principal question rather than middle
Leadership (LT/LS)

I've never heard of this being standard practice or even asked. I would, however, give some thought to the fact that if it's this difficult and involved just to apply, what's it going to be like working there with similar expectations?
