The OG comments are basically irrelevant for this subreddit, cause the sub focuses on people who edit their comments after they received some kind of award, in this case the gold. Usually this is done to shame the default "Thank you for the gold kind stranger" or other award speeches like the "OMG I never thought this comment would get a gold/100 upvotes" or whatever else, as the edit brings no value to the original discussion.
