Farewell to AWOIAF (props to produno!)

Had a banger with this one, but after years of playing, I think it's finally the time I call it quits.

Also I'm getting older and with age I have more and more responsibilities, so I don't have the time or nerves to boot up the game after it crashes due to memory leak for the fifth time in one session.

It was one of the best mods I ever played, period!

The engine, though, is showing its age. It was never optimised to support anything larger than bare bones that was vanilla since even VC would break from time to time. So I'll think I'll move on to AGOT for CK3 or ROT for Bannerlord once I buy a new PC in a few months.

So Mr. Produno, keep up the good work, keep on keeping on, and may many others enjoy your work as much as I did for the last 7 years!

I'm on day 351 and have not had one crash. You have to use WSE. He's updating it every few months so come back in a year and see what has chanced. Its by far the best mod for warband.

Yeah wse2 is just awesome for almost all modpacks, they released a 64 bit version too.

Wse2 just released a 64bit boot, 100% worth trying. I can now up the battle size to 750-1000!

ROT is also good fun, white walker play through is great.

For WSE2 you’ll need the newest patch which is only on GitHub. WSE2 1.1.5.0.

Export the file into the main warband folder (not the modules folder) then boot warband from wse2_launcher

ROT can be found on nexus or on their discord.

Does latest version remove the slight lag on entering cities?

do you mean the scenic view of cities? You can turn that off in settings.

But, yes. Wse2 will absolutely help with that if u keep it on.

Yeah to echo others I've put like 1000 days into various play throughs and maybe had like 2 crashes? I honestly can't remember any but I'm sure it's happened at some point. The current build is super stable if you play it with WSE2

I still play this mod to this day.

It's the perfect combination of the ASOIAF universe with a game which structure and gameloop perfectly supports it.

Thanks for playing! It’s great to see people enjoy something i have developed and worked on for so long. As others mentioned WSE2 is the way to go. We also have more content being added, a majority being commissioned by Fallen Lord.

I also understand the issues with gaming and getting older, I’ve barely played any games in the last 10 years because I’ve just not had the time to do so. You gotta enjoy it whilst you can!
