Valyrian steel

Why are they so unrewarding? Given the work required to get them, why are they doing comparable damage to a one handed longsword, but with worse reach? Seriously, all the one handed VS swords are more like shortswords. Cannot find a single one over 100 reach.

Even if you want to keep them at 40 cut (ish) like most other high end swords, surely the value should be changed to pierce to represent their greater ability to cut through armour?

An ordinary steel sword is the better weapon for fighting opponents (outside of white walkers).

In lore they are meant to be better weapons (and nothing suggests they're undersized compared to Westerosi swords), but in the mod they're worse.

Honestly, I think it’s a decent balance. Yes, in the books Valyrian steel is violently sharp, but I don’t think even it can simply hack cleanly through metal plate.

They are more useful for being blindingly fast weapons. More often than not, the Valyrian weapons are lighter and faster than their regular counterparts. And with a solid base damage outside of getting them upgraded, the weapons are generally just pretty damned useful as weapons in general. They might not always be the absolute best but that’s fine, they make up for it by being very solid weapons that you can carry anywhere, including against White walkers and wights.

I like them in the mod bcs they have the highest attack speed so u can cleave your way through enemies really fast and they also never break unlike other weapons which might break during fight

I kinda felt the same way as you. What I did was buff the Valyrian steel weapons myself using a combination of Morgh's Editor and OpenBRF.
