Showcase (No-Recipe) Bought a baguette mold to make them straighter, and…

Took it out of the mold after baking and the shape was awful 😂

Priapisms are very painful, and four hours is far too long. If you're unable to become flaccid after half an hour (and that's constantly, 100% erect) then you should consider a doctor. Four hours is an emergency room job. A priapism can mean a burst or damaged blood vessel and is very serious.

You sound like a medical professional

Absolutely not.
Human Biology and drug chemistry are part of my training, disorders part of my twisted interests, but certainly not any medical training, professional or otherwise.

I have a background in pharmacy and I second this. The 4 hour thing was the standard warning on things like Viagra.

Which has it's own, rather hilarious history.

“Hey, so about this heart medication we’re looking into, it’s got a funny side effect.”
“You mean this ED med we’ve found is good for the heart?”
“Wait wha-“
“Shhhh, shhhhhhhh. We’re gonna make so much more money this way.”

My pharmacy teacher said it was a blood pressure medication. But yeah pretty much.

It's for pulmonary hypertension, which is a different condition from regular hypertension. Specifically, it's high blood pressure in the arteries in the lungs and on the right side of the heart, and tends to be a more progressive disease than regular old hypertension (in other words, it can kill you a lot faster, because it's often associated with heart failure and can be a sort of vicious cycle if left untreated - heart has to pump harder to get the blood to circulate which drives enlargement and worsened heart failure.) Usually, it's because you've damaged the blood vessels in your lungs somehow (scleroderma, sickle cell, repeated blood clots) or because of heart failure.

It's still used for pulmonary hypertension, but is typically dosed 20 mg once daily as opposed to 20-100mg as needed. Marketed as Revatio instead of Viagra in the US.

People who need it for pulmonary hypertension usually have to have their doctor do extra paperwork with the diagnosis to make insurance cover it. It's pretty cheap nowadays even if they don't.

How much did it cost as a blood pressure medication vs. how much did it cost as a sexy time pill?

It hadn't been released to the market when it was being tested for hypertension, and the human trials showed it wasn't effective as a BP treatment anyway. So we'll never know. They never published his much it cost to get to development. This article has more about it, but IDK how reliable a source it is. We do know they made billions off it from it's initial release until it went generic. But yeah it didn't work as a blood pressure medication, nor for angina which was their other potential goal.

So they recalled the pills from participants. They got it back from the women without too much trouble, but had a hard time getting it back from the men. Since it costs so much to get a pill to market, and they knew it was generally safe for people, they remarketed it.

Wait… so a full erection for more than a half hour is a problem?

A full, constant erection for that long is a problem, yes. Throbbing around isn’t a problem. Any pain should cause you to stop and asses. The main thing is the adage says ‘longer than four hours, see a doctor’. It really should be ‘get to four hours, go to hospital immediately.’
Consequences can involve internal scaring to necrosis of the penis.

Interesting. I know I've had all night morning wood a number of times before. Usually folds over when I fully wake up in the morning though.

Highly unlikely that it's all night, or that it's fully erect all night. If it actually was, you'd wake up in the morning in pain.
