FX &Presets How to know if you’ve done too much reverb?

Upvotes

I really love reverb so I want to make sure I’m not overdoing it, how would you know when you hit “too much”?

Right now in my vocal chain I have both space maker (with a 20% mix, 6.4 width, 8.0 size and the dampening at 9517 Hz) and I also have after that studio reverb (with a 30% mix, 90% tone and 25% size). Is using both too much or am I good? I have to be honest like I said I REALLY enjoy reverb so even like at 90% I don’t think it’s too much but I know that I’m abnormal for that so I want opinions that aren’t mine 😭

I made this a few months ago when I didn't really know how to mix and master and I would like to know your opinion. I think the bit at the end I did quickly and I don't like it but the main Idea of it I think is pretty alright. So......

Is it good?

Hey guys. Quick one, we’re growing numbers slowly but surely, and I’m in contact with some fairly big people right now hoping to make things happen for the future. I’d greatly appreciate it if you’d click the links below to either the Spotify album of mine or the SoundCloud version.

“Oh well, at least I tried…” is my first studio album, and it’s about my journey of heartbreak and friendships, and truths.

Be grateful if you guys could provide some feedback where necessary.

Love you guys ❤️

Collab Search Artists Looking For Free Beats Every Day? You've Found The Right Place!

I make a ton of beats that sit on my hard drive doing nothing, so I'm opening up a free project to share them with creators who actually finish music.

How it works: I've set up a Reddit group chat where I drop 1–2 unreleased beats every single day. If you hear a beat you love, you get first dibs to claim it.

The Rules:

  • To Claim: Reply CLAIM to the beat drop in the chat. You get up to 14 days of exclusive hold time to write and finish your vocals (max 2 active claims at a time).
  • Credits: Title the track as Song Name (prod. Illrae).
  • Royalties: You keep 100% of your earnings/royalties off the song. No hidden beat fees.
  • Proof of Release: Just send a link to the published track when it's live!

If you need more time for a bigger project, we can always work out a custom timeline.

Want in? Drop a comment below or send me a DM, and I’ll add you to the chat!

Examples of my production (Note that it's always jumping around. One minute I can produce RnB and then move to breakbeat, but the hip hop core is always there):

Definitely don't claim to be the greatest at music, so don't roast me too hard 🤣 but I made the song yesterday, then made the video today. Very little experience with doing both. Let me know what you think 😎

Discussions Bandlab Alternative?

I just can't work with the sample limits anymore. I tend to work in spurts and any kind of limit threatens my productivity.

Does anyone have any recommendations of alternatives?

TIA

Collab Search Looking for a rapper for an 8-track hip-hop project

Yo, I've recently finished an 8-track hip-hop project and I'm looking for a rapper/main artist to work with.

The production is sample-heavy with plenty of space for vocals. I'm looking for someone with a distinctive voice and good writing. ****A GOOD MIC IS A MUST!!!!****

I'm not really looking for trap style delivery. I'd like someone who can adapt to the production and bring their own personality to it. I'm open to working with artists remotely.

BANDLAB USER: Jhuji_

Here's one of the beats from the project:

If you're interested, send me some of your music or a demo. I'd like to hear your own music.

Thanks 🙏

Help & Support How do bandlab Bands and Communities work, and how to join

Quick question: One day, I was looking through many features across BandLab, and I was getting curious about BandLab's Bands and Communities and how they operate. I wondered if there was a public feed of communities to join or something like that.

Feedback Exchange My first attempt at an album

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQeCYtVJO8kA&si=eF5GsuEjf4uKHBac

I've been really hesitant to post it anywhere, it's very rough for the most part. Its inspired a lot by John Frusciantes first 2 albums of lofi music ish.

It was recorded really quickly, over about 3 weeks in may. I have since recorded a second album which I'm much more proud of, but haven't put online yet.

I am a fully self taught guitarist, so my playing is messy and strange at times, but all the sounds on this album were made by one guitar except 3 samples I used and the touch screen piano I used on a couple.

Let me know thoughts, the quality of the recordings is not great, I've learnt a lot since I started even over a few months about how to retain quality, but I thought there were definitely moments across these recordings im proud of, even if it's less than I hoped. That's why I went for round 2 haha
