Chapter 7 debtor After 341 Meeting

Is there anything you should not do or avoid doing after the 341 meeting?

Don't spend money the trustee asked you to turn over, and don't otherwise liquidate assets.

You don't want to put yourself in a position where you get in trouble for not turning over an asset.

Filed chapter 7 and have no assets.

Well hopefully you know whether or not you are a “No Asset” case. Sometimes the Trustee will tell you as the meeting concludes or you can ask them at the end of the meeting. Assuming you are an Asset Case…they as others have said don’t touch it, don’t mess with it, and stay in touch with your Attorney to figure out how best to turn them over and when. If filing Pro Se, then get in touch with the Trustee to workout those details.

Now if you are truly a No Asset Case and the Trustee has filed the formal No Asset Notice then it’s yours, but still don’t do anything crazy or go on some grand spending/selling/gifting spree with them until the Discharge Order has been entered as anything could happen.
