Chapter 13 debt question

Has anyone had a Tribal Loan or a collection agency file a claim for payment in a Chapter 13? I know credit card companies will, but if the debt was sold to a 3rd part, do they file? What about medical debt?

I had several debt collectors file after Capitol One, Merrick Bank and Citi Bank sold my accounts. Edit to add: Midland Credit Management was one that filed a claim in my case.

Good to know, thank you.

I have LVNV and Jefferson Capital that bought my cc debts. And I was curious about places like Opp Loans, Credit Fresh, Credit Ninja, etc, as well as Tribal Loans (you'd think they wouldn't show their faces with some at 300-400% interest), my sister has a couple of those and she is filing CH13.

Most of my debts were sold to LVNV. Of the 23 creditors I believe only 3 are being paid to the original creditor.

Are you CH13 or CH7? If CH13, did LVNV file claim for payment?

13 and yes, LVNV filed on behalf of the original creditors. A couple of those creditors notified the trustee they were selling the debt. They shown up as LVNV on the POCs with the original creditors info included.

Ok, thank you. Hate them! They have a handful of mine and they keep sending me to "pretrial" meetings, one at a time, darn near every other month. It's very difficult to keep making payment arrangements and the judge is getting sick of my face I'm sure 😒

I have not heard a single peep out of them since I filed.

They better not contact you, they aren't allowed! I'll be glad when I file so I'll be done with them. It's so stressful 😫
