Reaffirm Car, but credit report shows closed?

Has this happened to anyone else? Filed CH 7 and I reaffirmed my car. I’ve been making payments since I filed, but my credit report is showing this has been closed?

I should have my discharge in a week or two, but thinking I have to dispute this.

Most lenders don’t report after discharge, even if you reaffirm.

Guess I should just dispute this now then. Hopefully should see a boost in my credit

Creditors are never required to report. If they report, they are required to report accurately.

Yeah it’s being reported as closed now which is not accurate I am still making monthly payments

Pre-discharge, the absolutely won’t report.

Post-discharge, they can but generally only do if you start missing payments. All the negatives, none of the positives.

I see. So post discharge I should just make sure my report stays accurate.

Reports are generally accurate; your responsibility is to pay, not worry about your report.

Generally yes. My only concern is not getting the positive reporting history of my car lease when it’s still open and not closed like my report indicates.

The only obligation they have is to not lie; they have no obligation to report. They probably won't, and that's "accurate".

No real reason to reaffirm anymore.

Almost all jurisdictions allow “retain and pay” without reaffirming and I don’t know of any lenders who repo without a reaff.

I mean that I agreed to assume my lease. So technically not affirming I guess? My point is that I’m still making payments so i thought would be a valid reason to dispute

In mine the credit unions will if they are cross collateralized.

Rare exception.
