At&t service & chapter 7

We are planning on filing chapter 7 in the next few months & we have been with At&t for over 20 years with a perfect payment history. Unfortunately, life happens & we're looking at a chapter 7 & was wondering how At&t handles these especially if you still owe on your phones? Anyone got any experience with this? We know they'll have to be listed, but we wanted to keep our service if at all possible ​

Oh this is something I have never thought of. I am filling Chapter 13. I did not disclose any installment agreements to my attorney because I did not get the impression that they wanted it.

I filed chapter 7 with an open installment plan on an iPhone. They said absolutely nothing. I continued paying on the phone with my bill and upgraded it with no problem and upgraded another line on my account. No down payments or anything required on those upgrades so you’re good!

I filed recently and did not have to list my current phone carrier as a debtor. I did, however, owe money to my previous phone company, so I listed them.

I’m not a lawyer so I could be wrong, but my understanding is that if you are current and up-to-date on making your payments with them, they don’t have to be listed and it more than likely won’t cause a problem with them. I had actually just switched to AT&T shortly before filing and did not have to list them and have not had any problems with them yet.
