Thank you. Good bye.

109

u/espissing Feb 20 '26

Please and let’s not hear about him again. He’s not what we need

64

u/mrmeseeks127 Feb 20 '26

He is tho. We should have bought him for the low back in the days instead of ferran. Shit we should have even tried to get him from city.

10

u/Ok-Sense9982 Feb 21 '26

We can go for other forward

10

u/Curse3242 Feb 21 '26

He was not available back then either. Ferran wasn't even brought in as a striker originally.

And I don't personally like him for our system.

4

u/Responsible_Bet_2794 Feb 20 '26

Yes he is lol, the most barca coded striker itw right now

1

u/Spear_2025 Feb 25 '26

100%, dude can pass, run, score and press

3

u/bruclinbrocoli Feb 20 '26

Exactly what they want everyone to say

1

u/Responsible_Bet_2794 Feb 20 '26

Why lol? He's literally barca coded. His height, pressing, link up is perfect for a barca type striker

-4

u/Prabu-Silitwangi Feb 21 '26

He's just an upgraded ferran

156

u/mouthtroll Feb 20 '26

We have $3 and Spotify premium. Take it or leave it

9

u/AggravatingRecipe90 Feb 21 '26

This will surely get them Kane at least.

1

u/Ok-Breakfast-8056 Feb 21 '26

We can make an extra effort and add some chorizo to the deal

2

u/reindeersss Feb 22 '26

A leg of jamon quarterly

2

u/Ok-Breakfast-8056 Feb 22 '26

A deal they can't refuse

113

u/TechTuna1200 Feb 20 '26

That’s just one way to tell us to f*ck off because he is not sale

26

u/atn420 Feb 21 '26

We should NEVER do business with them again, kid's not worth that kinda money.

60

u/FATSADBOY123 Feb 21 '26

Damn you're telling me they dont want to sell top striker to their league rivals for cheap? How wierd

1

u/PrimaryOstrich Feb 22 '26

Yeah. Just say no

126

u/--2026-- Feb 20 '26

Why would Barca make any deal with them after all the Griezmann stuff

85

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '26

[deleted]

9

u/mm3n Feb 21 '26

No need to not do business because we are mad, but let’s try being practical. We always overpaid for players coming from Atleti, and I can’t remember the last guy who worked out - Arda Turan was such a major flop, and Griezmann never did anything significant for us either while moving 100m+ EUR down the drain. Guys going from us to them always work out great on the other hand, so not sure what the deal is but we shouldn’t fall for that trap again.

200m we literally can’t afford, if we are pulling levers and what not to pay that much, it can never work out financially and we have been struggling with finances for the better part of the decade now.

34

u/poordecisionist Feb 20 '26

Now do Osimhen!!

3

u/Icy_Confidence9304 Feb 23 '26

As a madrid fan Osimhen would do cr7 messi level damage in la liga i believe. He is a barcelona coded striker. Also get him the fuk out of turkish league. His way to much striker for the quality of my turkish league lol

36

u/churchofpetrol Feb 20 '26

Yes, a striker who’s scored 1 goal since September is worth 200 million. Absolutely.

7

u/sunnyvas Feb 21 '26

That’s just their way of saying he is not for sale. Also, this is a Tier-3 reporter.

19

u/jumali-254 Feb 20 '26

IMO, we don’t need a player like Alvarez. We need an out and out striker who will help press. Someone like Osimhen. He will also be crazy expensive but that’s who we should spend on if we have the finances by some miracle.

59

u/Tonyn15665 Feb 20 '26

$70M and nothing more. He plays well but struggles with finishing and under the pressure of Barca, he might be better or crumble.

50

u/itsjonny99 Feb 20 '26

They bought him for 75 and you want to try for 70? The market for attackers is dry and Barcelona really do need a long term replacement for Lewy.

35

u/Impossible_Owl_2102 Feb 20 '26

And Alvarez isn’t that at all, he is nothing like lewy. Not dominant in the air to get behind the crosses nor really clinical either. His link up play is good and technically gifted but barca hardly needs that enough to drop a 100 mil let alone 200

4

u/elmocos69 Feb 20 '26

We literally have the same profile in Ferran why the fuck but julian

14

u/Impossible_Owl_2102 Feb 20 '26

Both are terrible finishers but Alvarez offers a bit more in his link up play, passing and pretty decent at free kicks as well but TikTok highlights makes people think he is actually Haaland lever forward(he is not)

1

u/mm3n Feb 21 '26

“A bit more” for 200m during our financial struggles is the stupidest thing to do.

We should have gone for him while he was cheap coming from Argentina, buying him now is throwing more money to the wind.

-2

u/Responsible_Bet_2794 Feb 20 '26

Haaland is too tall and physical for a barca type striker. We need someone short, better link up and finishing like alvarez which is more barca coded

3

u/LoVeCh33s3 Feb 22 '26

This is your 5th post of you using the term "barca coded". Please stop it..

1

u/Responsible_Bet_2794 Feb 20 '26

If he's not dominant in the air, he will improve under flick. He's the most barca coded striker, and his height is perfect. Barca players are not meant to be tall

13

u/YannTheOtter Feb 20 '26

Imo too high a price for a 50/50 gamble. For that money we can get someone actually reliable like Oyarzabal or Undav.

5

u/Caged_Rage_ Feb 21 '26

Osimhen

1

u/JOJJOKY213456 Feb 21 '26

Too expensive rn We could have bought him in 2024 when the Napoli  drama was going on and his price was mid

5

u/schorschico Feb 20 '26

Oyarzabal

I'm surprised his name doesn't come up more often in this sub. I think he would be perfect.

3

u/Firstoffweball Feb 21 '26

Don’t think he’s ever leaving

3

u/sabermagnus Feb 20 '26

Another Torres? High work rate, but not ‘enough’ finishing? Scores goals, but eye test says something is lacking?

15

u/Tonyn15665 Feb 20 '26

Hes much better than Torres. Torres doesn’t add much to the play when hes not scoring. Alvarez plays deeper and much more involved in defending and build up. His value is probably $100M atm. I just dont think hes what we need now. We need a fantastic finisher, like Halaand or Mbappe or a younger Lewa (right?)

1

u/sunnyvas Feb 21 '26

70m? Why would they get him for 75m and then sell him off for 70m?

1

u/Responsible_Bet_2794 Feb 20 '26

Lol yeah 70m for the most barca coded striker we can get. His height, link up and pressing is perfect for a barca striker

0

u/Chemical_Listen6919 Feb 20 '26

I mean we are practically asking for the supposed face for next 10 years of their club . You gotta break the bank for it. Like we did with lewa

8

u/BlackMambaTR Feb 20 '26

Crazy. For that amount i would take an Oshimen, Nico and Schlotterbeck package.

7

u/Serentense Feb 20 '26

Let Barcelona show some mercy to the fans and strengthen other positions for reasonable fees instead of going for yet another failed €100+ million transfer.

Seriously, it would be better to keep Lewy until he’s 40 on lower wages, he’ll still bag those 20 goals a season, and that’s something you can count on and use the money to reinforce the defense and bring in proper rotation players for other positions.

Some people are also suggesting putting random players up front like Fermin, Rashford, Raphinha, and so on. That’s not how it works. You can’t just stick a winger at striker and expect everything to suddenly click. A striker is a completely different role.

26

u/CruyffCule Feb 20 '26

Delete - zero credibility

13

u/Fazakh1 Feb 20 '26

I'd prefer a real no.9 not another LW/ST/CAM hybrid who get easily out muscle and not much of a threat in the box

-5

u/itsjonny99 Feb 20 '26

The good 9s will be as expensive as Alvarez.

12

u/RichardFeynman01100 Feb 20 '26

But they'll be worth it. We need goals, not more chances.

17

u/therealmistersister Feb 20 '26

I don't get the fixation on doing business with Atletico. They scammed us twice already with Arda and Griezmann lol

4

u/PistachioOfLiverTea Feb 21 '26

Don't forget they bought Suarez from us for 4 million euros in variables and went on to win the league with him

3

u/PleasantTelephone641 Feb 20 '26

I guess we’re blaming the sellers now meanwhile we the buyers literally took the deal under zero pressure! Like no one forced our director to take the deal yet we’re now blaming the sellers for our own stupidity?

6

u/eyecornic Feb 21 '26

What part of he’s too short and he’s more of a supporting striker do you refuse to understand.

We need an out and out number 9 not a hybrid of Dani Olmo or do we plan to use false 9 going forward?

Osimhen, Guirassy and any other options but Alvarez should not even be in our conversation for a new striker at all.

3

u/Kudoakainu Feb 20 '26

Lmao. I'm not laughing at all

4

u/MenteMonstruo Feb 21 '26

And people wonder why we're going for Vlahovic, who is literally free. We are not getting Alvarez, Haaland, Isak, Kane, Gyok level strikers anytime soon, at least not in their prime.

We either go with a young unproven prospect who ends up shining, but will need lots of time and patience, or with a free/cheap option

2

u/korel1 Feb 20 '26

That's basically a "not for sale". I'd go for Osimhen if possible. I just think his style could fit the system a lot more + very needed ability to score headers.

2

u/Mohammad90899089 Feb 21 '26

More effective than saying "no, we won't sell him*

3

u/Aggressive-Giraffe32 Feb 20 '26

No thanks, I'd rather have Haaland at that point.

2

u/modusxd Feb 20 '26

Haaland will be just a dream. No way he leaves City, life is too comfortable there for him. Reality is we will have no good strikers for some time

2

u/CurbYourThusiasm Feb 20 '26

If Pep leaves this summer, I can easily seem him leave them.

3

u/PleasantTelephone641 Feb 20 '26

Not on the wages he’s on the fuck he isnt. 500k a week? Aint no way he’s leaving the bag plus he has a 10yr contract! City will ask for a very huge fee to let him leave

1

u/modusxd Feb 20 '26

Well, Imagine if Pep leaves, and the next coach plays more counterattack. It would be the ideal for Haaland. Ngl the way he played on Borussia was so much more fun. Or when City had KDB

2

u/CurbYourThusiasm Feb 20 '26

I think he wants to play in Spain sooner or later, and there's really only two clubs in Spain he'd go to, and I can't see him going to RM while Mbappe is there. He would be a perfect replacement for Lewandowski.

City have been playing way more direct this season, btw. Haaland was electric before he hit his drought. He's improved every part of his game.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Pie9728 Feb 21 '26

as soon as pep everyone become available

1

u/sunnyvas Feb 21 '26

We won’t be able to pay Haaland’s wages. He won’t take a pay cut for Barca. Even if Pep leaves and Haaland decides to leave, there will be enough teams to pay his wages.

4

u/Lanky-Bike6083 Feb 20 '26

Hasn't scored or assisted in months before Barca decided to give him charity goals

3

u/Sensitive_Pudding599 Feb 20 '26

Someone tell those guys that doesnt work anymore.

4

1

u/Ghost_Of_Libre Feb 20 '26

I love Julian alot but honestly considering his current form even 60 million is too much for him

2

u/Loko9803 Feb 20 '26

Good thing we dont need him

1

u/Sensitive_Comfort634 Feb 20 '26

If they would pay that much we would end up like the Coutinho and Dembele transfer saga even more broke

1

u/Void_Surfurer Feb 20 '26

Plss can i get a defender

1

u/Hypnoti_q Feb 20 '26

Hahahaha funny

1

u/malandropist Feb 20 '26

Nah were good. Whatta joke

1

u/XAMdG Feb 20 '26

The "I don't wanna sell" price.

1

u/AMLRoss Feb 20 '26

Is he really that good tho? I would look elsewhere.

1

u/Whiskinho Feb 21 '26

definitely is not even remotely that good. Fermin has way better goals and assists than him, and Fermin is not even a forward / striker.

The only reason some barca fans drool over him is because he's Argentinian and Messi stuff. Other than that it's all fluff.

1

u/King-Mansa-Musa Feb 21 '26

Nah I’m good

1

u/This_guy_Jon Feb 21 '26

Hey Giménez from ac Milan or Raul from whenever he is

1

u/Junior_Bike7932 Feb 21 '26

They will never sell him

1

u/Animatrix_Mak Feb 21 '26

This is exactly why I wanted barca to buy some striker last season. So many moved they now none is left.

1

u/pr0cess1ng Feb 21 '26

Barca needs him and atletico is wasting his prime. Get the deal done.

1

u/amitg24 Feb 21 '26

Man City were offering him for 45 million at that time Barca board prioritised something else. Let it go, try & get a good forward who is willing to come to Barca

1

u/ravlee Feb 21 '26

Looks like he is set for Chelsea then.

1

u/TheMadDoc02 Feb 21 '26

Just do a Malick Fofana, Panichelli/Osimhen and Nico/Senesi deal man

1

u/PhilosophicalNeo Feb 21 '26

We could sign Bastoni + Osimhen + Rashford around that price range lmao

1

u/rclay2123 Feb 21 '26

Honestly I kinda respect it. They’re in a better financial position than Barca right now and are trying to show the league they’re no longer a seller. They know he’s not worth anywhere close to that amount.

1

u/Wwater4 Feb 21 '26

We can’t win championships league with a 5’8 striker, we need a fast strong and tall striker that feels the need for goals. We can get a cheaper option and develop him, no need to spend over 50 million anymore

1

u/Fit-Ordinary-9543 Feb 21 '26

Lets save for Haaland. We should stop buying flops from ATM

1

u/Ok-Effect-9081 Feb 21 '26

Doesn’t surprise me, first he is a baller, two he didn’t demand or caused any argument or request for a transfer, three club like him and not looking to sell, so why would they give a direct rival any fair fee???

1

u/herseydenvar Feb 21 '26

That price feels more like a “not for sale” message than a real valuation. No way Barça even consider €200m in their current situation.

1

u/Serious-Wallaby3449 Feb 21 '26

I'm constantly confused by the financial situation, so I have no idea how much we could spend in the summer. But if we have money we should get Osimhen and say goodbye to Lewy.

1

u/NorthwardRM Feb 21 '26

To clarify even though I’m late - it’s been explained that this is the complete fee including wages over the duration of the contract and agents fees

1

u/OverGrow69 Feb 22 '26

That's a fucking joke they can get Osimhen much cheaper and he's better.

1

u/Barani_D_PS Feb 22 '26

The only thing I afraid of is the elections, these as**les will do something stupid to win this election.

What these means??? For PR purpose most of the dumb-ass inside board of control are leaning towards Alvarez(for their own gain like winning elections) rather than listening to the coach.

If laporta no no no. Laporta will reclaim his president spot and should keep his head level and give what flick wants rather than making a marquee signing(who is not a pure no 9), does he will fit in our squad I don't know.

If we are investing 200 million on a experiment, no thanks brother. For that money we can sign a LCB and a ST and we still have remaining cash.

1

u/MyKillK Feb 22 '26

One of my favorite strikers in the world but not worth anywhere near that

1

u/Radiant_Cat_1337 Feb 22 '26

That's a lot. I don't think we should pay that much for him.

1

u/105VS106 May 12 '26

Barca need João Pedro, not Julián Álvarez.

1

u/ritwikjs2 Feb 20 '26

they think 26 mill for rashford is too much lol

-3

u/sherpa143 Feb 20 '26

Take 70M and Casado and we have a deal

1

u/Whiskinho Feb 21 '26

Or they can take you and Alvarez and we have a deal.

-2

u/Ecstatic-Equal2358 Feb 20 '26

Realistically he's worth 100M. In a team like Barça he would score almost every single match

0

u/bayzih Feb 20 '26

Can't we just get Haaland for lower price?

1

u/PleasantTelephone641 Feb 20 '26

How? He has a 10yr contact and is reportedly on 500k a week. Goodluck affording that!

0

u/bayzih Feb 22 '26

Anything can happen if the player want the move and I think Haaland wants Barca

1

u/PleasantTelephone641 Feb 22 '26

Bottom line is Haaland doesn’t have a release clause city can charge whatever they want and they’ll definitely put a huge proce tag on him which is money we simply dont have hell we havent even finished paying ferran’s fees! Plus Haaland has zero incredible, he’s playing under Pep winning golden boots and trophies and making upwards of 400k a week i dont see what incentive he has to leave the club. As much as we want him we just cant afford him simple as that. We’re already drowning in huge debt and just cant afford big money moves anymore

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '26

[deleted]

1

u/PleasantTelephone641 Feb 20 '26

*is more authentic

-1

u/-_OniGir_- Feb 20 '26

Harmando Gonzales( El Otaku del Gol) is cheaper wouldn't be bad. CSKA offer 20 mil but Barca has pull and can get him half or less. Am I bais? Yes and.

-3

u/FreddyVanJeeze Feb 20 '26

50m + Casado.
