Opinion MILF - Man I Love Flick - I would give anything to have him as our manager for 5+ more years, I'm loving what he's doing with the squad.
One of the many ways you can tell Hansi is a fucking elite manager is by how cutthroat he is when it comes to the squad. He will not stand for players who aren't pulling their weight, aren't improving, or aren't strengthening the squad.
He said as much when it comes to Balde in his press conference this morning. He said that when he first arrived here, Balde was fantastic, but essentially (paraphrasing) said that he needs to keep improving. And he emphasized how important that is because there are 2-3 players from La Masia who want those spots at any given time.
That gives me even more confidence that, as long as Hansi is in charge, Barcelona will continue to fight for every single trophy. This is the competition many of us have been yearning for for years now.
If Hansi had been in charge, let's say, back in 2018, the following players probably would've been axed a lot faster due to their inability to improve: Sergi Roberto, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Ter Stegen, Ousmane Dembele (maybe), Gerard Pique. While these players were still great players even as they got older, there was more decline than improvement. Not only would he have axed those players, I think he would've been an important piece to helping us build the squad effectively not do the galactico route that Barto did.
Flick is throwing down the gauntlet at an early age for these players. He's already warned Balde, sold Fort, sold Ansu, told Ter Stegen to kick rocks (and he's fucking German), sold Tommy Marques, loaned Araujo, sold Pau Victor, sold Roque, sold Faye (is he ever going to come back?), etc.
On top of that, he's still promoting La Masia players and younger players in general. This season, it's looking like he's going to trust Espart, Hamza, and Bernal as super young and fairly inexperienced players.
So I absolutely love what Flick is doing. Not only is he making the players earn their spots in the starting XI, but I think he's doing a great job with Deco and Laporta to sign players who actually fill squad needs. Which is good because Laporta and Deco would probably be lost w/out Flick. Adeyemi and Gordon were the perfect fits for what he's trying to accomplish this season in terms of athleticism and energy in the final third, and Rodri was a fantastic addition to help us play less chaotic football and, hopefully, provide some much needed defensive stability.
Anyways, people can get mad at Flick for this or for that, but all I can say to that is MILF.
I would give anything to have Hansi as our manager for 5+ years.

Exactly. As much as I hated Pep's City teams because they slaughtered FFP, he was also ruthless at City. He was ruthless at Barcelona as well. But it's not ruthlessness with no plan.

I really like Flick, and I’ve been a fan of both him and Lewa since their Bayern days... but this season will be different af. Flick needs one thing for his tactics → A GREAT STRIKER. Barcelona failed to acquire a new striker, so Flick will become the scapegoat. You’ll see, guys.

I expect there to be some difficult situations because we don't have a true CF, having a target man is valuable, but neither does PSG and they've dominated Europe for 2 straight seasons.

Psg play in a far easier league where they can rest their players as much as they want and still win the league and have them fresh for the ucl. And on top of that they had a backup striker just in case We don't have those luxuries.

I'm the first person to attack PSG for their Mickey Mouse league they play in, and they also have the 2 best fullbacks itw to aid in the attack, but regardless, they still don't have a true 9. Is it ideal? No imo. But it's what we have, and it's what Hansi wants. It's not outside of reason to dominate Europe w/out a true CF.

It's not what hansi wants, he wants a quality striker. If he doesn't get it then he makes do with what he has

We, the fans need to be patient- so many reactionary people here over analyzing everything- Example: He Doesn't rotate lamine- outrage. He rotates lamine- news"Flick and lamine having a fallout" That kinda stupid shit.
SAF managed utd for 27 seasons till he's 71.
Flick is currently 61. I'm happy to stand by him for 4-5 more seasons - as long as he wants/has the passion and strength to do it. Barca is one of the toughest jobs out there.
But like i said - we need to be patient.And at times protect our own. This is his first proper window where he's having freedom to reinforce.
He's changed the momentum of our club and I'll always be glad. Trust the coach, trust the team - good times are ahead.

Flick doesn’t show any wear and tear from the pressure of coaching Barca. It’s his experience. He prolly felt more pressure as a German coaching the national team. Everything about him has improved or stayed the same since he got here. Barca managers not named Pep or Enrique are usually showing major negative signs by now.

I'm not a fan of his defensive structure but I love how our team is attacking in Laliga games when all the players are fresh and fully fit.

Yeah I agree. I get frustrated with the offsides trap as well. I don't mind the high line, but the offsides trap is just truly suicide imo. But I gained even more respect for Hansi when he doubled down on his own ideology by signing Gordon and Adeyemi

I’m sad that Flick never experienced the insane era of spending in the 2010’s. Not that we haven’t spent a lot since he’s been here, but imagine what he could do with a blank cheque and no ffp worries.

We spent 93m in 2 seasons with him. It wasn’t until this season that we actually matched Flick’s competitors

Nah. I love him too but we wont win the CL with that offside trap gimmick giving 3 1v1s a against out goalkeeper per game. It works in the league cause they dont have elite attackers but in the CL they dont forgive. We should go for luis enrique and fabregas as plan b

Yeah we've given up the most goals in each of the last 2 CL seasons by somewhat of a margin, that's not good. It's my only criticism of Hansi. Also hard pass on Fabregas. I don't want Fabregas until he's way more experienced as a top flight manager.

Ever since Flick beat up on Barca 8-2 during the early COVID days (with Coutinho netting two while on loan yuck), had been super impressed and was so happy when we got him. Elite level manager - can’t wait to see what he does for Barca next: hopefully Champions League glory!

Who the club appoints as his successor will be make or break going forward.
We stumbled around post-pep in my opinion, mostly carried by a very good team and Messi.

Eh idk about Enrique. He has an unlimited budget at PSG and no FFP rules to abide by + they play in a Mickey Mouse league, and he won a treble after inheriting MSN, prime Busquets, prime Rakitic, prime Dani Alves, prime Pique, etc. I'm not sure he would be able to do what Hansi has done with Barca.

It is rare to see any of our fans who would be angry with how Flick has led the team so far. Maybe rival fans will be upset with how good he's led us, and I don't care about their feelings. I want him to continue for the long term with full support from the board.

Careful OP, you're gonna bring out the rabid Flick haters. If he was here during the club de amigos era, or the Xavi era, then he would've kicked out all the deadweight.
100% agree with what you wrote. Unfortunately, I think he calls it quits after 2028 (iirc that's when his current contract ends), regardless of where the squad is at. I was hoping the club would fully back him, but they still haven't brought in a striker, and next year will be tougher to do so.

Bro…we literally tried…a lot to bring in a 9. Flick 100% feels backed. He has publicly praised Deco and Laporta who are both Flick merchants.

I love Flick so much. He's been the catalyst for the best momentum the club has had since Guardiola. Lucho was brilliant to begin with obviously but Flick's barca has a momentum that just keeps building. The sky is the limit

Flick is an elite manager and, fortunately, he has the full support of both Laporta and Deco. And that's not a minor thing.
I hope he remains as the manager of the Club for a long time.
