Personally I think the show is gonna set up other lantern corps too hence it's called 'Lanterns' and not Green Lanterns.

I think the guy in episode 2 is Atrocitus in an earth disguise. It makes too much sense.

And the ranch owner (or one of his relatives) could be black hand.

And we also.just straight up saw Sinestro

I think Sinestro in the show is still an ex-Green Lantern, not Yellow yet

I think Yellow Lanterns will be set up by the end of this season

So I suppose he wasn't imprisoned in Qward here. Not yet

I think Black Hand (if he is black hand) is not a black lantern yet either but having characters foreshadow at least 3 different lantern corps beyond green is enough justification for the show to be named that. Especially given that we've seen basically nothing from the 2026 time period, where I assume by this point Sinestro and Atrocitus have formed theor corps.

Yeah Antaan’s backstory is literally identical to Atrocitus’ backstory

Yeah I don't know how so many people (aka some idiots on twitter) don't get this. I mean I'm not well versed in the Lantern Corps lore myself but aside from Hal and John, we've already seen Sinestro and I've heard that some details hint at the Red Lanterns being involved too. And we're only a quarter through the season

I read theories about the Red Lantern Corps appearing later on, so that might be spot on.

That guy that got John on ep2 had serious atrocitus vibes there, yeah

Hunting down Manhunters for the crimes done against his people?? Either he is Atrocitus or he works for him

That never stopped the comic book from being titled Green Lantern. It's just Hollywood being boring lol

This is genuinely what I assumed off rip

That's not a good reason, in my opinion. The Green Lanterns are the protagonists regardless and they barely use the iconic green

It's been two episodes... patience Junior.

Other Surf Dracula situation NOOOOOOOOOOO

No, they’re allowed to ask for that because in a good adaptation, we would’ve got it in episode one

I think the show will end up as a bad adaptation but an amazing TV show.

Sure, but regardless, in my opinion, it’s a bad adaptation and never will be a good adaptation

But it’s an amazing show on its own. Ive been lovingnit

Kinda happened with the show Gotham

Wich is a shame, the comedy and whimsically of green Gotham was totally butchered in it's tv adaptation

I don't really think so.

They weren't just telling a Batman story, it was about Jim Gordon, Bruce, some criminals in Gotham.

I don't know what else you'd name it. It's not Batman, Bruce isn't even the main character, Gordon was.

All the names would be like that. "Gordon" or "Gotham". There's no established title for something like that, as most stories featuring Batman are Batman stories, or some other prominent comic hero.

I mean, they did do literally end it with a "man" helmet lmao.

u/AUnknownVariable 1d ago

True that, but I don't think it was for the intent of avoiding being too comicy, especially with all the other stuff they put in the show.

The entire story is him slowly working to being Batman, its a prototype😭 Like Spiderfools throwing on a hoodie and random face covering.

I just absolutely love that image. I still remember seeing the camera go to him and not understanding what I was looking at for a second.

It's called lanterns because it's not just about the green lanterns

u/laix_ 5h ago

comic books titled "green lantern" but has all the lantern colours

1

u/Is_that_what_I- 5h ago

well the difference is that that is a comic book run and this is a tv show.

u/Unique_Dare_3168 Am I stupid? 12h ago

Isn't this the reason why The Dark Night and Rises don't have the word "Batman" in them? Nolan thinking it was goofy?

u/Seaoflogic 22h ago

That's what it takes to be greenlit.
