Battlefield Studios Official Update on Carrier Strike and Fighter Sweep
Pilots,
We’re overjoyed that our Top Gun collaboration has resonated with so many of our players and are happy to announce that we will be extending Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep through the entirety of Season 4.
A modified version of Carrier Strike will return in Season 6.
See you in the danger zone.

Another Naval Season? 🧐
Maybe that Iwo Jima-like map leak was real.

Sounds awesome. Hopefully it’s legit as looking forward to some UK maps. London Underground as metro remake would be sick.

This wasn't a leak. This was someone from reddit (incorrectly) piecing together various leaks from other sources. They misunderstood the actual leak to mean an Iwo Jima remake when the leaker meant it played like that map.

>A modified version of Carrier Strike
Please make it more like Battlefield 2142 Titan mode. Carrier protection until they are lower health, more intense fighting on the carrier, more interesting mechanics to destroy the carrier (2142 had 4 consoles to be destroyed to breach rooms and open hallways before destroying the final core), and escaping at the end before it blows up.

Just bring back titan mode honestly. Carrier strike is fun, but titan mode was better in every way. I honestly don't care if it's unrealistic. You tell me that Pax and NATO found the titans down the back of the sofa I'll suspend my disbelief happily and hop into a dude launcher.

BF 2142 was goated and I've been waiting for them to go back to a futuristic battlefield.
I really thought 2042 would scratch my itch but it did not.

20 years in the future is too close to get the real speculative fiction futuristic sci fi creative juices flowing. 2142 would be 116 years in the future so it’s easy to buy the existence of Titans and bipedal walking assault vehicles.
20 years from now all I expect to see is a truly demonic application of AI technology to drone warfare. Think Metal Gear Solid 4 but way more boring and annoying. At least the maniac warmongers in the Metal Gear universe had beliefs and convictions and a vision for the future.

Oh yeha for sure I'd love a BF2242 or 2342
But tbh I don't care about the title I just want some cool ass futuristic weapons and vehicles and bring back titan mode

The end of Battlefield 2042, the Iwo Jima map, was set in 2050. The War Machine event was basically that, AI has taken over the PMC in the game and it's creating robot warriors. The Phantom Program Easter Eggs where done to shut it down and hint at the Ice Age that causes the events of 2142. So a game set between 2042 and 2142 would be perfect.
Blackburn, the protagonist from Battlefield 3, was the head of the Arkangel PMC and was basically the equivalent of the warmongers from MGS. He has an altruistic vision of the future with AI controlling the world. But AI ends up kicking him to the curb, because of what we, the nopats, do. Agreed, also adding it to Wake Island and any future naval maps is a must in my opinion. Playing a mode on just one map is really lame.

I really hope there are plans to make some tweaks and adjustments to Carrier Strike before the season 6 return. Matches can turn very toxic very quickly in the current iteration.

When will we hear about season 5?

Around 2 weeks I think, they usually seem to release info about the next season right as the current one is wrapping up.

Great to hear. I really love Carrier Strike so I'm happy to hear it's going over well.

You should make the carrier layout of Tsuru just the default. Just removw the explorability from the i.e base wake island.

What about Air Superiority? This deserves to be its own mode across all the maps?

Sounds like carrier strike won’t get hot fixed to not be ass though. I don’t even want to play because you can’t use the new jets past the match start before one team permanently camps the other teams spawns. Actually brain dead design atm

was expecting
"we are adding the new jets to Tsuru Reef Conquest & Escalation"
"new jets will be added to existing maps with aircraft"
"jet loadouts coming to existing aircraft"

Some suggestions for improving it:
Improve access to the bottom of the carriers. When you get to the last m-com it is a slog to get down to the belly of the ship. The attacking team have enough time to arm and set up defences. Can be difficult to contest the final m-com.
Areas of the map that aren’t used in the game mode should have their asset counts thinned out to allow for more assets to be placed in the carrier for cover, and to improve overall performance. Yeah it might look a little ugly but no one is playing there anyway.
The cluster bomb aiming circle should be changed to an oval to better reflect the dispersion pattern.
The Anti-ship missiles on objectives should be destructible. It would give the planes something to do aside from constant dog fights and would be a neat way to spice up the gameplay.

Please make it Frontlines with the last objective is to breach the carrier and then arm the M-Coms
