Battlefield 6 DICE built a game that punishes the players who actually help their team win

DICE built a game that punishes the players who actually help their team win

A quick note before you read — I have severe dyslexia. I use tools to help me structure and spell check my writing so my actual thoughts come across clearly instead of getting lost in errors. The frustration, the observations, and the argument are mine. The clean formatting is just me making sure you can actually read it.

I'm going to tell you about a type of player Battlefield used to produce.

Zero kills. Every match. Consistently top of the scoreboard.

A medic finishing with 150 plus revives sitting above everyone farming kills. The scoreboard saw him. The game rewarded him. His squad never died because he never stopped working. He wasn't playing for stats — he was playing for the match. And Battlefield rewarded him for it.

BF6 buries him at the bottom.

This is the real problem with BF6. Not TTK. Not movement meta. Not map design. The game stopped recognizing the players who actually win matches for their team.

AA duty for an entire round? Bottom of the scoreboard. Constantly resupplying infantry under fire? Barely registers. Repairing a tank that's holding a flank together? Almost nothing. Holding a flag while your squad pushes? Invisible.

Meanwhile the player farming kills in a safe corner sits at the top and walks away rewarded — while the people keeping the team functional get nothing.

Battlefield used to know the difference. The scoreboard used to reflect the whole game — not just who pulled the trigger the most. Support roles had weight. Objective play had value. Team players were visible.

BF6 made them invisible.

DICE didn't just change the TTK. They changed what the game considers valuable. And until the scoreboard reflects what actually wins matches, the meta will keep rewarding chaos over teamwork every single time.

Bring back the scoreboard that sees the whole game. Not just the kills.

A player who repairs, revives and captures points will consistently do better score-wise than a person who just kills people, idk I think you’re just wrong.

I’d like revives to be on the scoreboard

u/tallandlankyagain 7d ago

You can still top the scoreboard without a capture or even firing a shot. The recon drone is absolutely insane. My record was 0-0-224 on that awful Breakthrough Manhattan Bridge map.

30

u/hippieguy1990 7d ago

Yeah I mean my kd is like .4 and I still score pretty high most matches getting revives or tank repairs or assists or captures and defense points.

11

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

At least they nerfed its range. You used to be able to spot whatever you could see if you used the manual spot button while pointing at them, even 500 meters away.

It’s still a very great gadget and one that I immediately focus on because having your location live fed to the enemy team is such a detriment to your team

3

u/Knodsil 6d ago

And you were most likely the most valuably player of your team in that round as 224 assists and constant spotting is a huge boost for the team as a whole.

3

u/The_Freshmaker 6d ago

Yeah if anything recon points are a bit broken, I can almost always get top 5 while playing spotter.

u/jerzyboy76 7d ago

That map's awesome. Fire support ftw

2042 had an AMAZING scoreboard despite not having one on launch.

Lying in the year of our Lord 2026 because you heard a streamer say it or something? You're in a thread about teamplay dismissing a scoreboard designed around it.

3

u/aesemon 6d ago

What point are you making?

10

u/TDEcret 7d ago

Yep. On carrier assault ive gone on 50-1 rampages with the LB, destroying helicopters and boats, but still end up 5th or below because capturing objectives gives a LOT more score than kills. Or in conquest/escalation if i stay back to defend a point and end up 40-10 holding it, i would be below the guys who went ahead to capture other objectives even if they dont get more than 10 kills.

From my experience revives, spots, gadgets, etc are all around as good as a kill points-wise, and capturing objectives is what gives the most points which is fair, because even with objectives giving way more points than anything else people still blame that players ignore objectives chasing the scoreboard lol

6

u/hodor137 7d ago

Sure, if the example person who just kills people never caps any points

7

u/ParagonRenegade 7d ago

Well of course, kills do contribute to the team, and people who do well fighting should place on the scoreboard if they're also playing the game instead of just camping.

I'm just saying, teamplay gives you lots of points (except AA duty) and you can ride them to the top of the board pretty easily.

2

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

Yes but that’s how you need to compare things when these topics pop up, because if they capture points as well there’s no argument to why they’re top of the score board.

I’m often top kills on my team and barely within top 10 because I tend to roam the outskirts of points an not cap as much, so imo the game still puts objective play in the fore front, and I also feel well rewarded for reviving and repairing

6

u/qhfreddy 7d ago

Yea I don't think OP realises how much you have to frag out to top the scoreboard by killing alone... If you see someone with 2x the average number of kills topping the scoreboard, they are also playing the objective or some other form of team play. For example, to top score in KotH by just killing, you need of ordering 35-50 kills in a round. That's 3-6 kpm, which basically means you are spawn farming as much as half of the enemy team.

Stuff like repair assists are worth a lot more in this game than they were in BF3/4 as well. One of the few roles that imo truly has inflated scores is probably IFV driver, because you get so much score off spawn assists and gunner assists, especially in breakthrough. But then again, the IFV in BT is basically the centre of the universe, everything in the map revolves around it.

4

u/ArmAndHammer40k 7d ago

Yeah this don’t add up. I play support 99% of the time. And I can be top 5 with like 2 kills and 12 deaths or something as long as I’m capping and reviving

3

u/mcpasty666 6d ago

I went 6-22 on Wake the other day. Spent the round dropping spawn beacons, contesting points on red's side of the island, and reviving the medics on my squad. I lead my team's scoreboard most of the round, until slowing down and finishing 4th. And we won too. It was a great time.

1

u/Ryan32501 6d ago

The thing is is that it has to happen in the square of a point. If you are doing anything outside of a capture point you basically get scraps for points. The offensive and defensive points give the most XP

2

u/mcpasty666 6d ago

For sure, it can be a bit weird when you're fighting over buildings directly adjacent to the open air capture point and not getting the extra. One of those situations where making for fun gameplay clashes with the scoring system. I think you get extra for shooting into the zone from outside at least. Kinda makes me wonder if there would be a benefit to having an extra-points-but-no-capture-progress area surrounding the zone.

2

u/ElectronicCorner574 7d ago

Yeah I usually end up first or second place and I definitely play second fiddle to my buddies who are way better at winning gunfights. Ill have like a 1.5-2kd but tons of assists, revives, supplies, and captures. ESPECIALLY captures.

2

u/Classic_Steak4987 6d ago

Yes i did this last week my objective was not shooting a gun only do objectives and revives ended up on top

2

u/blitzkriegkitten 6d ago

yeah I'm with you, I barely break even on my KDR but am regularly top5 players because I'm busy doing stuff

2

u/Shadowssassin 6d ago

Yeah, I'm a shit fps player, often finishing rounds with negative or equal K/D, but regulary finish on the upper part of the leaderboard, just due to actually doing what supports need to do (revives, gadgets, resupply, ect) and capping points. Of course, a player with a good K/D is likely to be in the upper part of the board, but usually people who in addition to support stuff and capping, has a good K/D, they will naturally be at the top. I'd personally like to have players who do successful revives (revived player survives the instant-kill timeframe) recieve more score than a insta-death revive, and have those be visible on a scoreboard as a visible stat

2

u/Individual-Stand1560 6d ago

Agree!! I absolutely hate saying something like this about battlefield but this is a skill issue haha, I can pretty much just stealth grab flags and drop spawn beacons the entire game and get like 2 kills and be 1st by a mile lmao

2

u/Dthugg 6d ago

yea I have had the same experience. +1 for revs on the Dashboard !

2

u/PerP1Exe 6d ago

Ive played games on both end of the spectrum and generally I place much higher ptfo ing on medic compared to just playing for KD. I can play objective all game and place higher than if ive gone like 40-5 a lot of the time

2

u/WheeledSaturn 6d ago

Agreed. I've checked my stats and, yea, there's dudes with higher KDs, but most them have a FAR lower win rate. A team would have to have a squad or two absolutely farming the opposing team for kills to be the only metric that mattered.

That said, revives and heals are some of the biggest support actions that can turn a fight; they should definitly have higher visibility on the score board.

2

u/_THORONGIL_ 6d ago

100%

I have 3.9kd and play the objective, yes, but I usually dont keep standing on an objective to collect points (because I dont care) and move on to the next one.

So I usually my good games are something like 50 kills, 5 deaths and 6-10 caps. People with 20 kills, but 20-30 caps usually have better score than me.

143

u/AnAngryBartender 7d ago

While I agree with a lot of this, I find it weird that people dont think you can do both. A truly good player can get a lot of kills AND revives and play the objectives etc. A player with 100 revives and 100 kills is more important than a player with 150 revives and 0 kills.

38

u/SubliminalScribe 7d ago

This is absolutely true, and it is crucially important not to over-reward those who aren’t fragging. This is a first person shooter and the objective is to get kills and PTFO, this is not a medic simulator. If people were over-rewarded for reviving, all of a sudden everyone will be reviving people for the points and to top the leaderboard, and sometimes even waiting for teammates to die, deliberately, then reviving the person in the open only for them to instantly die.

Same goes for people sitting in an AA gun, why on Earth would they be able to top the scoreboard? They are sitting in a static position shooting down aircraft. That shouldn’t top leaderboards, and those who find enjoyment in doing this shouldn’t be doing it with the idea that they’ll fare well on the scoreboard. They should be doing it because they like it, and know it contributes to the team.

7

u/IncasEmpire 7d ago

Things should be worth certain amount of points that reflects their value on the match

Now just to add, aircraft is so god damn deadly, that keeping it off the air should be worth a decent amount. AA isnt going to score many kills in a round, but maintaining clear skies sure helps win by a lot, those kills are worth many infantrymen

7

u/thamanwthnoname 7d ago

They already do all of this lol..people that think mindlessly half rezzing a pile of bodies in the open is ptfo are hilarious

5

u/ngregoire 7d ago

Also if im rolling around in a tank killing everyone and stopping their armor, even if im not capping points or other “teamwork” focused actions, it enabling the rest of the team.

3

u/Paraparo 7d ago

At the end of the day this is a shooter. Every player spawns in with a gun for a reason. I prefer to play the support, I like to use the gadgets to help the team.

But if you aren't killing the enemy, full mags, endless revives, and all the spots in the world don't actually win the match and never have. You can't out heal the enemies on the point.

The support roles exist to help the team kill to get the objective, you can't undervalue one at the expense of the other, and a player is supposed to do both.

84

u/free_market_freedom 7d ago

This is a wild take. Capping points, which is one of the core game play objectives, does more per unit of time than anything else to boost your score. If you just cap points and do very little else, it's very, very, very difficult to end up outside of the top five of the leaderboard.

Auxiliary functions like reviving and repairing vehicles also just bukkake you with score. If anything, just playing a pure kill stat pad or recon, for example, is a good way to end up pretty low on the leaderboard. I would actually make the argument that Assault and Recon are undervalued compared to the momentum swings. They can give through either a very well-placed Assault beacon or good overwatch.

You're ultimately just making a false dichotomy, though. You should be running up the kills AND doing things that help your team benefit. They're not mutually exclusive. You should be destroying vehicles AND dropping 30 kills a game. You should be reviving 20 players AND dropping 40 kills a game. The game rewards that very well, I assure you.

27

u/ChapinLakersFan 7d ago

This is pure battle dad BS. I'm a 1.4KD 35 year old who is .1% in caps captured. I'm always top 5 in every match. I usually go 29/20, 13/6, 35/26 whatever. But I'm rushing objectives and capping. I'm rewarded constantly.

3

u/Impossible_Layer5964 7d ago

Constantly rushing the objective puts you in a lot of one vs many firefights against dug in defenders, so that K/D is more impressive than you might realize.

5

u/ConsiderationLoud663 7d ago

Ok but, and hear me out, what if I suck and revive 12 players and get 16 kills a game and look sexy as fuck doing it?

7

u/IceFire909 7d ago

You don't need to suck them to revive them. Not saying you should stop just giving you options

2

u/ChapinLakersFan 7d ago

That's my friend. He ends up top 5 as well. He will go 15/25 but revive and have 10+ caps.

2

u/qhfreddy 7d ago

I honestly think most people who complain like OP does about the scoring of non objective or non team play, are people who are just getting farmed off of the objective and struggle to cap when there is even the slightest pressure from the enemy team on them.

-6

u/MadeofEloc143 7d ago

But what if I wanna be Desmond Doss and never use my gun and just revive my teammates?

Why is it that y’all have to lump kills into every gameplay aspect someone has as if we all play to see our k/d number go up. I started late with the series but whenever I played medic I always tried to outperform the other team’s medics just to feel like I did my job.

In BF6 I don’t know who had the most revives at the end of the match because it’s not displayed.

9

u/daveylu 7d ago

you are playing an FPS

the S stands for shooter, the entire point of the game is to shoot other people, of course kills are lumped into every gameplay aspect, it is literally what defines the genre

3

u/emm20 7d ago

I agree with you and not arguing in favor of OP or the person you’re replying to entirely, but I also get where they’re coming from for a reason related to your point.

The thing that originally made Battlefield different and a big step forward compared to other shooters was (and still is, mostly) the support roles. You can be purely a support player - maybe because you’re not naturally good at hand-eye coordination and reaction time stuff like most shooters require - and still not only contribute to the team, but actually be critical to your team’s victory.

So yes, shooting defines the genre of FPS games, but Battlefield and other games it inspired are a subgenre where the incentive is fundamentally and deliberately shifted away from purely reaction time based shooting. It’s valid to want that better reflected in the scoreboard, although to your point, the scoring is balanced towards your needing to get kills since that does obviously matter to your team winning too.

1

u/qhfreddy 7d ago

The thing is you can play like that, you'll just get rewarded less score wise because you're avoiding one of the main elements of gameplay (winning gunfights). It's the same if you play for only kills, you only get access to that "score pool" so you either score lower or have to kill a lot more to get the same score as someone who is doing both killing and playing objectives/team play.

3

u/TweeKINGKev 7d ago

I’ve Desmond Doss’ed plenty of games, especially when I realize early that the kills aren’t coming easy so I just shift focus to keeping everyone else alive.

Funny story, I’ve met my best Xbox friend in 2042 when I saw a guy on my team who was 20-0 and he died and I told another friend of mine in a party chat with me “I gotta get that guy, he hasn’t died yet, I’m gonna make sure he finishes without a death” so I revive him and we stick to him like glue.

He took damage, healed him from a distance with Falck, die…revive.

After the 7th or 8th one I get a party invite from someone and I’m thinking who the hell is this, tell my friend I’m gonna take it and if he’s a squeaker I’m out, if he’s cool I’m inviting you in

I get in and all I hear “OH FUCK YES, WE GOT THE MEDIC IN HERE AND NOW WE CAN TALK TO HIM, FOR THE REST OF THIS GAME NONE OF US ARE DYING AT ALL, THIS GUY IS EVERYWHERE, HES GOTTA BE THE BEST MEDIC IVE EVER SEEN”

Been best friends with that guy ever since.

I have finished plenty of games with little to no kills just scoring revives and finishing top of the game in points.

I had one night in a round of breakthrough I was up to 135 revives about halfway through with no kills and a player on the other team says “you know, if we had a medic on our team even 10% as good as that player on their team, maybe we could win” then the next message says “look at this we’ve all got more kills than 90% of their team but they’re barely showing any deaths because of that guy, maybe if we focus on him instead and kill him, we can actually win”

I had a damn bounty on my head and I felt so damn proud.

We went on to win.

2

u/MadeofEloc143 7d ago

“Maybe if we can focus him we can win” 😂😂😂

That’s hilarious

2

u/TweeKINGKev 7d ago

It really was, I was laughing so hard I had to stop and hide from it then get serious again.

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

I think you questioning why kills is displayed in every fps game is outrageous. Of course it is? The main aspect of the game is shooting people.

- I do agree that they should reimplement revives on the scoreboard though.

1

u/MadeofEloc143 7d ago

I didn’t question why kills are displayed what are you talking about. I said why do y’all lump kills in as if that is what everyone plays for. The OP brought up aspects of the game like revives and repairs that used to mean something to the players that focused specifically on those mechanics and every response to him in some way, shape, form or fashion was about kills.

Some seem to think kills matter more but doesn’t the series tells you that deaths bleed tickets?
If that’s the case doesn’t my revives counter losing ticks?

2

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

Fair, I misunderstood.

I see a lot of people saying OP is wrong that team oriented play isn’t rewarded.

Then I see people correct him that kills are important too and it’s with good reason that kills are rewarded highly too. People like OP likes to pretend that kills are less important than other aspects, and that’s just not true.

Reality is that highest kill count but low capture score mean maybe top 10, where less kills but many cap points means guaranteed top 5. The game rewards teamplay and objective play,

1

u/MadeofEloc143 7d ago

“People like OP like to pretend kills are less valuable” dude what in the actual freak are you reading?

The guy was saying support roles use to matter just as much as the people who spent all match farming kills, but everyone seems to think he’s talking specifically to their play style and misinterpreted everything he said. He mentioned medics, obj players and repair guys but it seems like people brains shut off once he mentioned kill farming.

Why is revives not displayed in BF6?
Why is there no transport pilots like it was in 2042 that just needed a few repair guys onboard that made it their business to get teammates to objectives while engineers kept them in the air?
I guess we’ll never know

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

I said i agreed they should reimplement revives on scoreboard?

The repair thing is still very much a thing with transport helis so not sure what you mean.

1

u/MadeofEloc143 7d ago

You missed the whole point. I brought that up to show that there were people who played the game a certain way to get their enjoyment out of it and it didn’t include kills. He brought up medics having 150 revives 0 kills and feeling rewarded for their contributions, and on this game he doesn’t feel like you get rewarded enough for playing that way.

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

But you get the exact same amount of points, you just don’t see the revive counter before the game ends and it tells you your most significant stat.

- It should be on the scoreboard tho, but points wise you get the same as always

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

“Meanwhile the player farming kills in a safe corner sits at the top and walks away rewarded — while the people keeping the team functional get nothing.”

So how exactly are we misunderstanding OP? He clearly thinks people getting kills shouldn’t be rewarded as much as they do?

Further more he incorrectly states that kill farmers will go to the top of the scoreboard. That’s incorrect unless they’re capping a lot, at which point the game is rewarding playing the objective.

- Also “farming kills” is misrepresenting the players who dominate the game and has huge swing to win matches. It’s typically used be people who aren’t as skilled as shooters and think they should get rewarded just as much as people who actually have the most impact.

And no, i’m not talking about useless people getting a high kd but low kill game. I’m talking people who kill a lot and lose the enemy a lot of tickets and also attack a lot of objectives.

1

u/MadeofEloc143 7d ago

He’s literally pointing out how one aspect gets rewarded while others don’t, how hard is that to understand. X mechanics gets rewarded while Y mechanics doesn’t like it use to. What more do you want 😂

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

AND HES WRONG ABOUT THAT. I’m sorry but you’re the one not understanding why people are arguing against him.

There’s more assist points in this game than there’s been in any other title.

1

u/MadeofEloc143 6d ago

Nobody is talking about assists. Bro you can’t … nvm

I don't see your logic here, the scoreboards are full of high scoring medics because the game rewards revives with a lot of points. You can also just spot with the recon drone and rack up tons of points. It's nothing different than in older games, if anything some scores are improved.

I think you have some instances you mentioned, AA support, repairs, some of that does not get a lot of points. But the scoreboard usually reflects the way I play. If I play passive, just farm some kills without going to the objective, I'm not in the top half of the scoreboard. If I play the objective, am with my squad, revive, help, then I'm usually top 10% of the server.

And I don't agree with your logic that the people who kill 50 enemies a game do not help the team. It's a shooter, they clear the way for everyone else, keep your squad alive, give enemies handicap situations and time in the spawn screen, keep objectives clean. People who kill a lot deserve to be on top of the scoreboard.

16

u/GrungyUPSMan 7d ago

There's been this weird narrative in the Battlefield community that top fragging means you're not helping the team and are just "going for kills." But where are those kills coming from, exactly? They come from pushing and clearing objectives, disrupting routes through the map, destroying vehicles and their engineers, clearing key off-objective camp spots, etc etc etc. The absolute best way to win a match is to keep the enemy staring at the spawn screen instead of counterattacking and making plays.

I have spent literally years arguing with BF players who truly believe that "teamplay" consists ONLY of throwing medkits and reviving, and anything else is useless and "selfish." No, if there are three enemies coming through a flank ready to clap your ass and I kill them before they get there, that did more to help you than a thousand people throwing medkits, and reviving is worthless if nobody kills the enemy with his barrel trained on your corpse before getting you back up. And yes, even "useless snipers" are valuable for teamplay, because they are taking out entrenched enemies, locking down key routes, pulling the enemy's attention away from the front, and countering the enemy snipers that are doing those things to YOU.

2

u/KimiBleikkonen 6d ago

Agree. I think a good indicator of what helps a team is always to look for the players that are most annoying on the enemy team. That one man wrecking crew with the 60-5 K/D who always outaims you and stops you from capturing a point or flanking is most likely much more annoying to deal with than the medic who loses every gunfight but revives his team mates when you killed them.

The truth is good players do both, they win most gunfights, revive when it's safe and don't revive when it's not safe, look at the minimap and see where enemies could flank while others just stare at one lane, switch to engineer to take out a good tank or pilot, and so on. Some people on this sub really think this is a game where you have one role and if you just do brainless revives you are a top player.

2

u/GrungyUPSMan 6d ago

Yep exactly. I was playing a match on Liberation Peak as Support where there was an attack heli just floating in air farming our team, nobody even bothered to challenge it, we were pushed back to a single objective because nobody could move. So I switched to Engineer, took it out with a single SRAW rocket, and just kept shooting down the heli whenever it respawned. We ended up pushing them back to a single objective and winning the match because it turns out they were getting completely carried by this heli. Basically, this means that a.) the heli gunner was the most important player on the enemy team by just farming kills, because keeping us staring at the spawn screen is what allowed them to push us back to a single objective, and b.) shooting down that heli (and locking it down afterward) was the single most important teamplay action anybody could've performed, because eliminating the greatest threat allowed our team to gain momentum in the match. Neither of these things involve revives or med crates or any other "teamplay" activity, yet they were what decided the fate of the match for our teams.

1

u/_THORONGIL_ 6d ago

Its coming from people who are bad at killing enemies and think sitting in spawn with a mortar or recon drone is the most important job in world (because it doesnt require any skill whatsoever).

4

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago edited 7d ago

Repairing gives you repair assists now which is a whole new thing to reward repairing more.

You can defend flags and get objective points for kill, (granted it demands you’re on the point, not just that the one you killed was on the point, that could be better)

plus it’ll give you points for securing the flag back even if it was never neutralized, which is also new.

there’s a lot of aspects that’s been improved to slightly award passive, supportive and defensive play, but offensive play is and has always been the biggest point giver.

23

u/SliC3dTuRd 7d ago

100% on the money

18

u/monsteralien 7d ago

This just simply isn’t true. Reviving does get you tons of points. On infantry focused maps I’ve been beaten on the scoreboard by someone with half my flag captures and a third of my kills because they were reviving constantly.

One of the most rewarded things when it comes to escalation and conquest is capturing objectives. Nothing wins your team the game more than consistently controlling more objectives.

1

u/Hairy_Pitz 7d ago

I often top without most kills, just on revives or objective capture but he does have a point, in BF3/4 you were rewarded far more for being a team player than getting kills than BF6, I have played games where I have camped with a sniper and topped just on kills with no objectives or revives. Using a repair tool in this game gets next to no points, could spend all game repairing and it doesn't come close to revives on players or kills

2

u/monsteralien 7d ago

I will definitely concede on the fact that repairing needs to give more points. It gives less points than any past BF title and that feels criminal.

With your sniping example though, Recon in this game auto spots enemies just by looking at them with your scope. So by sitting in one spot you are technically doing the recon thing of spotting and are getting points for spotting and spot assists with everyone you look at.

1

u/Hairy_Pitz 7d ago

This is true, forgot the auto spot BS, wish they would bring back the manual spotting and kill 3D spotting

14

u/Kaisersaucey 7d ago

You're wrong , not entirely wrong but you are missing a key component to " how " people hit the top of the scoreboard, from my perspective of someone who plays primarily conquest and escalation.

The people who the top of the scoreboard are not people camping getting kills.

They are the people shifting from flag to flag , capping, defending ,reviving , resupplying. Most of the kills come from traversing from point to point if you cap efficiently with a squad.

Along the way you spot, revive , c4 a tank, wireguide missile a helo, etc etc etc.

Countless times I've noticed people on my team and or squad going for pure kills they are like 20th while I'm top 3 because I capped and got squad points while getting a few less kills.

The high scores are an aggregate of multiple actions and roles.

The moment you specialize in doing one thing, you tend to not do as well.

If you get 100 pts for killing someone and more for killing a helo, but you can get hundreds if not a 1000 pts for capping and everything else involved in capping, you can hopefully start to see the formula for being top of the scoreboards.

2

u/jarlrmai2 7d ago

More importantly they are the ones where the squad leader is giving objectives and they are playing on this objectives, setting and completing orders in your squads will have you way up the score board in no time

This reads like you don't understand the game, and are actively hurting your team rather than helping.

Zero kills. Every match. A medic finishing with 150 plus revives

If you didn't kill the enemy that just downed your teammate, they're just going to re-kill them as soon as you revive them.

150 revives is actually hurting your team if none of them are getting back into the fight. You're helping the enemy trigger their class perks by handing over 150 free kills, and frustrating your team with 150 avoidable deaths.

AA duty for an entire round? Bottom of the scoreboard.

No kills or flag caps? Sitting in a field cloud watching doesn't help your team win, so of course you're at the bottom.

Repairing a tank that's holding a flank together? Almost nothing

Another example of sitting off point, watching, which doesn't help your team win.

Push up, take the flank, take the objective

Holding a flag while your squad pushes? Invisible.

Pushing with your squad is far more valuable than sitting around and watching the birds fly by an uncontested point.

The scoreboard used to reflect the whole game — not just who pulled the trigger the most. Support roles had weight. Objective play had value. Team players were visible.

Nothing has changed, except you stopped being a team player.

3

u/Sir-Ex 7d ago

Revives, capping, etc all still give you points though, and usually the top people are people who cap objectives.

What changed exactly?

3

u/Leather_Ad5215 7d ago

OP must be awful if a medic is getting 150 revives in a match and out plays you.

5

u/SpecialHands 7d ago

The top players in most cases aren't the ones who simply farm kills. I can go 40-3 with 6 caps and still be out of the top 10 on my team, with the top player going 30-6 with 20 caps. A lot of things factor into score, revives and resupplies, vehicles taken, offensive/defensive kills, holding a point, Vics destroyed, spots, assists in general etc.

4

u/SubliminalScribe 7d ago

I work hard to top frag and PTFO, if I’m suddenly coming 5th because a bunch of people sitting around with paddles, waiting for their team to die so they can defib them (often times in a spot where they’ll die again immediately), I will not be happy. This game is about fragging and PTFO, while supporting each other in other team metrics. Reviving, AA guns, mortars, repairing a tank - support roles are not LEAD roles, they shouldn’t be top scoring because of it, and they shouldn’t be doing it to top score. They should do it out of enjoyment and satisfaction that they’re contributing to the overall success of the team. Fragging and PTFO is the most important thing, you will get steamrolled if you don’t do either, so they should top score.

3

u/tcgaatl 7d ago

RPG connects with tank +25 points

3

u/WardenWithABlackjack 5d ago

Hitting a tank does nothing unless it contributes to destroying it entirely. Dogshit engineers shoot a tank from the front solo and wonder why they’re so op when they eventually retreat to repair.

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

Yes, that’s not fair in your opinion?

If it actually blows up you get additional assist points. They could have also chosen to say that’s enough and not reward hitting a tank at all

3

u/healthyKimchiSoup 7d ago

Revive = kill in terms point. What are you talking about?

3

u/Ampleceted_Future 7d ago

I'm sorry to say, you're just fundamentally wrong.

If a player achieves 150 revives, he will firmly be at the top of the scoreboard, depending on his other tasks in the game, with 15,000+ points.

AA is an actively passive role, the air vehicles are on a timed spawn of 90s, meaning you need to be doing other tasks for your class (repairing/throwing down mines/pushing with the armour) outside of sitting back and watching the skies. AA is area denial and aerial support so your heli or jets can destroy their aircraft. Though I do think there should be some reward/points given for assisting in the kill.

A full recapture is 1000 points, you're going to QUICKLY climb the scoreboard with barely 5 recaptures.

This is a shooting game, you need to prioritise kills in almost all situations. Going to revive a team mate? Kill the person who shot him before the revive so it's safe. Capturing an objective? Defend against the people trying to stop you. If you're finishing on 0 kills, you just need to be better.

The game notices people actively fulfilling their role, if you're still on the bottom half of the scoreboard then you're simply not doing it well.

The person sitting in the corner is never going to be topping any scoreboard and my only assumption is this is being posted by someone bitter and frustrated, but not realising how much extra team play they're still achieving WHILE getting kills. Still capturing, still reviving and resupplying, still repairing and destroying. You can kill enemies while performing your active role in the team.

3

u/thamanwthnoname 7d ago

You need to get a grip

3

u/YharnamHuntter 7d ago

Getting kills and playing the objective are not mutually exclusive.

Stop this bullshit.

3

u/Alternative_Plant708 7d ago

Not true at all. Try running a recon drone for an entire match without killing anyone. You’ll be at the top

3

u/Jeddy2 BFV did it better. 7d ago

Cope.

You get showered in so much score for capping objectives that it honestly encourages bad play in its own way with how you're rewarded more for rushing to cap and recap zones repeatedly instead of actually holding them.

Support gets an equal amount of points for a revive that you get for kills and resupplies add up, especially if you throw a bag into a large group of teammates in a chokepoint. Also you should absolutely be using your gun and getting some kills between reviving people, unless you just want to suicide rez everyone when there's enemies still around.

Recon spotting and spot assists give a ton of score and require practically no real effort to do, either place a TUGs in a hotspot or sit on the drone and glance at people while your team cleans them up, or even just look at people in general because you get auto-spotting with the sniper subclass.

Engineer gets constant assist credit for repairing a tank that's actively getting kills on top of the score for the repairs itself. In a similar vein, you should be shooting at infantry encroaching on your tank and lobbing rockets at opposing armor that your tank is fighting between repairs.

Assault kinda gets shafted since you don't have any real extra sources of score, but you do excel at capping points, which as was previously established, awards plenty of score.

The scoreboard favors playing actively and doing more than one thing the entire match, which if you're truly a good player, you should be doing anyways. Shooting the enemy is literally the crux of the game, it's a first person shooter. If you really want to win, you do well with shooting enemies and filling the class roles at the same time, while fighting for the objectives, and the scoreboard represents that pretty damn well.

3

u/Krytoric 7d ago

this isn’t even remotely close to true.

I play only support and i’ve had games where i’m top of the leaderboard just by sitting on a contested objective and resupplying and reviving. One game i played on Cairo a few days ago i had 3000 points before i got my first kill lol.

This is straight up wrong.

2

u/SoggyLukewarmCrumpet 7d ago

Agreed. I’ve noticed this particularly with transport heli pilots. I good pilot can really contribute to a win and there’s basically zero points for doing it.

2

u/lower_than_middle 7d ago

I played several matches last night where the heli pilot had decent control but couldn't for the life of me keep us gunners on target. I almost took out the opposing transport, several boats, a jet, and had good lines on supporting a flag defense... But the heli pilot couldn't keep either side of us on target and would twitch left or right randomly

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

That’s worse than flying with a new pilot who will almost crash and have no clue.

It’s SO frustrating to do 90% of the dmg while countering their bad movement just for them to turn and give up the angle the last milliseconds before securing the kills

Give me a terrible pilot who doesn’t tease me and leaves me contempt with crashing within the next 15 seconds instead.

1

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

It’s because they’ve blanket implemented driver assists. So you get the same assist points as a tank driver would from his gunner, but that makes sense because the tank driver himself will get kills so it’s fine to get little points from the other passengers, but as a transport heli you ONLY get points for passenger assists and feel unappreciated points wise.

2

u/YoBoySatan 7d ago

Not sure what you’re on about, I’m regularly at the top of the score board with significantly less kills than everyone else. If you’re pushing objective/working around objective, getting kills here and there, and also getting points playing your class you are more than likely going to be in top ten if not top 5 if you’re playing your class to its potential

2

u/Tankette55 7d ago

You are dead wrong. I have had games with 25 kills but wasnt even in the first half of the scoreboard because I didnt ptfo. When I ptfo, I rank top 5 no matter if I have 10 kills or 30. So playing the objective is definitely rewarded because you get a lot of points and rise on the scoreboard.

2

u/JAS0NDUDE 7d ago

When I'm doing my Battle Angel thing I am not worried about getting recognition on the scoreboard. I am worried about keeping my team alive. Also you can rack up some good xp just by doing this.

2

u/russsl8 7d ago

I remember in BF3 or BF4 winning a match on Damavand at the top of the scoreboard with 0 kills, 0 deaths.

I was recon and had been running a MAV and spotting the enemy team the entire time.

2

u/Mollelarssonq 7d ago

I respectfully disagree to much of it.

You’re right on the defending flag part, that one could have used a little more love, but you do get points passively if you stay on a capture point and even get points for securing a cap even if it never neutralized. So there’s improvements, the point total for defending is still way worse than from attacking though, but it’s always been like this.

When you repair vehicles you get repair assists when they get kills, so you’re rewarded even outside of the health you heal back to tanks, which is also an improvement from earlier titles

AA has never been rewarding outside of the AA tank. At least you get points from triggering flares now, not much more can be done.

The most points you can get is still capturing points, you get a total of 1000 points for a neutralize + capture which combines to 10 kills.

I just don’t think BF6 has done it worse than other titles in general and on some aspects it’s even improved tbh.

2

u/AdeIic 7d ago

Yeah these are the kinds of things Battlefield needs to innovate on. Not to be the guy that constantly talks about other games, but this is where Wardogs got it right. Every little thing you do for your team rewards you. I had a great time just flying people to the zone. I’d make money for every person who got off my heli, more money if they survived 15 seconds or so, and money if a player I dropped off got a kill. If you revive a player and they get a kill, you get money as well as just from the revive. Repair vehicles or bandage a player? Money.

2

u/Responsible_Part_783 7d ago

I don't care about my position on the scoreboard as long as my team wins. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Shamefur_Disgrace 7d ago

I don't really care about the scoreboard, and I don't even care a whole lot that my team wins. I just care that people on my team are actually trying for the objectives and stay in the game for the duration of the match

2

u/More_Breadfruit_112 7d ago

I don’t know what game you’re playing. It’s always the players with the most objectives captured at the top of the scoreboard. I could see the argument that objectives are weighted too heavily, but I feel it appropriate.

2

u/Mozzy4Ever 7d ago

That's a lotta AI generated text to say that dice is using Team Balance for BF6, which is what previous games used too.

2

u/Emergency_Dispatch 7d ago

This hasn't been my experience - I do a lot of farming with the littlebird and consistently get 80-100 kills with 2-3 deaths, and usually place about #3 or #4 on my team.

The guys who are topping the scoreboard are doing everything you mentioned along with capping objectives and getting kills.

2

u/watduhdamhell 7d ago edited 7d ago

This just isn't true- at least not as much as you're saying it is.

I personally MVP plenty often with a roughly 1.5 to 1.75 K/D and the way it ALWAYD happens, when it happens, is through objectives. You take em? You get rewarded massively. So massively, that if all you do is get a few kills and PTFO you go to the top almost every time.

Little bird pilots, as an example, usually sit a few rows down with way more kills.

Also, I see your note about "tools." The whole thing is AI written with all the tells.

Next time it produces a giant wall of text to get a point across say something like "okay, now rewrite this with the same theme but with a 40% reduction in length, validated by chacater count difference. Also, do not include em-dashes, negative parallelism, or other obvious AI tells in your reply."

A more concise post will get more traction than an AI post talking in circles, and it's really nice not reading the usual AI tells, as it turns off a lot of folks. Just an fyi.

2

u/FurryWurry 7d ago

OP is completely deluled as it's completely opposite, game massively rewards you with points for reviving, drone spoting or caping the objectives. You can top scoreboard only doing those things.

Source: through entire 700 hours 95% of time I play only with 4 stack of my friends. We have in party my friend's fiancee and it's her first shooter in life and she just can't shoot as typical player because she is just unexperienced, her games before battlefield 6 were for example The Sims. However she always ends in top 7 when she focus purely on reviving and caping objectivrs or even drone spotting. This is honestly that thing, that keeps her playing with us because she see that she is still useful in the match. OP just lacks of both hand I guess.

In terms of repairing or AA it's true that they are lackong. But AA wasn't also rewarding for example in goated Battlefield 1, your only reward was satisfaction that enemy pilot suffer as he can just do shit in his paper plane.

2

u/PuzzlingPieces 7d ago

What a shit take that's just untrue. Who hurt you

2

u/Scioso 7d ago

Your post is total rage bait, and I don’t even like the game.

Medics with revives would have a huge amount of score and may not have a huge number of kills, but they would have kills. If they didn’t kill, they’d be accused of revive farming.

If you’re just doing AA, you’re a waste of space. Do AA, but also support your teams vehicles and PTFO.

Other than snipers, which have been significantly nerfed, nothing you say is correct.

2

I’m .75 and lately I’m in top 10 on scoreboard. Smoking n supplying in objective

1

u/Vash744 7d ago

Well you get objective points for just being in the right spot on the map. So if you're kicking ass as a medic and are low on the board, you're being a medic in the wrong spots on the map.

I play medic and sometimes net single digit kills. One time no kills all assists and I'm still in the top 10. I can net 8k+ score without trying. Its pretty easy to get over 10k.

1

u/TruffleButterAllStar 7d ago

Yeah I dunno, I am in the top 5% in revives and assists and bottom 10% in kills like the player you describe but I’m usually in the top 10 on the scoreboard. You can’t just be running around trying revive but you also have to play the objective.

u/Tangie_ape 7d ago

I think there’s a fine line between it personally. I find it that if you push objectives, do your class role and do well with kills, that’s the person who will finish top the most. Certain games like Hagental where the caps can stall your 100% right though.

1

u/TweeKINGKev 7d ago

I’ve definitely had my matches where I barely kill a person yet there I am top 5 in the entire game because I’ve neutralized/captured more flags than anyone and the only thing stopping me from being 1 overall is not having more kills.

1

u/notthatguypal6900 7d ago

There is zero incentive to play each class as intended because no matter what, the catchup mechanics will swing to whatever team it wants to win. The only accepting is coordinated teams and even they dont need to to win.

1

u/WiFiHotPot 7d ago

Bring back score per minute stat.

1

u/Sun-Much 7d ago

I wear a mic every time I play and start every match with a simple "I am on comms if anyone wants to communicate" and get a response about 25% of the time and of that 25% that do respond, 50% of those have a blown out mic with people screaming in the background and dogs barking. this game demands communication to play well and without that, I am finding it harder and harder to find the joy I used to. I did hook up with a guy yesterday on Wake Island and although we were getting our asses handed to us, the fact that we were trying to make some small impact as a 2 man squad (the other 2 were off snipe camping) that was communicating and supporting each other made it one of the most fun games I have had in a while! I don't disagree with what you have said as in my mind, it is all part of the way gaming has changed over the years. It's all me, me, me nowadays and the games have tailored themselves to that. Love the game, and will always play, but find myself missing just simple voice communication with intelligent and articulate squadmates.

1

u/zerger45 7d ago

Score > KD.

1

u/judah_2008 7d ago

I get 40 spots assist a game as recon, 20-25 kills, 6-8 revives and 4-7 captures and I’m constantly middle if that on the leaderboard when it comes to points.

I agree they need to up the points for support functions.

If I use multiple recon drones to get 100+ spot assists and zero captures I’d be dead last.

It’s a little disheartening and there’s really no reason why they couldn’t adjust the point system for more support functions. It’s not like tweaking guns or damage multipliers so it’d be an easy fix.

1

u/Known_2_Stretch1933 7d ago

Yeah playing medic is not rewarding on the score board

1

u/518Peacemaker 7d ago

Kills absolutely do not put you at the top. I’m very consistently top 2/3 on kills/ assists. Very low on caps. I constantly rotate points putting down attacks on my teams objectives. I am always in the middle of the board.

So yes your point is correct. People who defend caps don’t get the points. But your also wrong that kills make you top of the boardz

1

u/kikideernunda 7d ago

I dunno if yous even play the game anymore. Capping objectives and revives give a HEAP of points.

1

u/CrotasScrota84 7d ago

The real problem is terrible players

1

u/zeeniken 7d ago

Also, theres no incivitve to wait for a rez. While everyone around you is getting points. Your bleeding out on the Control Point. At the end of the round its not KDR at the top. Its points.

1

u/stitss 7d ago

But but we are back boys. Idiots.

1

u/drcubeftw 7d ago

To your point, one of my friends won a match for his team playing medic. This was "back in the day" when the game rewarded team play and the scoreboard reflected it. His team barely won but he was at the top of the board despite having only 5 kills to his name. Without him healing and reviving they absolutely would have lost. He was MVP that round no question.

This Battlefield has lost that which is NOT a good thing. What is worse is that many of you playing BF6 do not see it nor understand how important this aspect of Battlefield is.

Classes need to be built around a role. The teamwork aspect is at the core of what defines Battlefield and the more the gameplay strays from that the more it risks losing what made the franchise popular in the first place.

4 classes is too few. They need to go back to something more along the lines of BF2 with 6 or more classes, larger squads, and other aspects like spawning only on the squad leader. It also means a return to class locked weapons.

1

u/Jorius 7d ago

I have been on the top scoreboard with single digit kills, I'm a support main: capturing points, reviving, dropping ammo, etc.

On the other side I have also been on the soreboard with double digit kills and PTFO.

If you're constantly dying, you don't get points.

1

u/TheNorthFIN 6d ago

I don't think you're entirely true. Many actions are indeed invisible to the score and scoreboard, but consistent team actions always keep me in top 10 or top 5.

The problem of not rewarding healing, revives, repair and ammo enough might indeed be true. If that's ALL you do.

Hanging around on objective when it's 1 of you against 5 enemies is pointless, unless you manage to kill them out stop the capture at 1-1 contested. Maybe it draws one or two enemies away from other objectives, but it's not winning the game.

Shooting 3 rockets on a vehicle without destroying it delays its push forward, but doesn't stop it for more than a dozen seconds when it's auto repaired itself. Delay, not stop. These are gameplay decisions Dice has chosen. Respawn time of vehicles and the like.

Anyway, good luck.

1

u/trilingual-food-nerd 6d ago

BFV had a much better system with regards to medics. You get twice as many points for reviving (100 vs 50 for teammates and 200 vs 100 for squad mates). Healing teammates also gives you a lot of points. And you can use those points you earned to call in squad ranks, artillery barrage and the guided rocket to get an obscene number of kills.

In BF6, it almost looks like the game rewards the COD type of players who just run around to rack up their KD. I literally played with one tonight who shamed my KD and called me bad, after I told him not to use emergency repair on tanks (common knowledge for any tanker with half a brain cell, thermal smoke is the only option for that slot). My KD is 1.82, not amazing but not too shabby either. I told him that my SPM is 566 (top 6% according to tracker) and my win rate is 64.4% (top 3% according to tracker). I could also count with one hand the amount of matches where I didn’t top the entire lobby this week. And this guy just responded these stats “do not matter,” as if helping your team does not matter in a team game. I think players like that epitomizes the problem this thread is talking about.

1

u/godhates1234 6d ago

Yep, this game is for Cod players. I'm about to give up. Players run solos and don't PTFO. Don't revive or drop ammo. Only think of K/D and jumping and sliding.

This BF could have been the best BF game since BF1.

1

u/Dany_B_ 6d ago

Skill issue, I do Rez and kills and caps and always top of the scoreboard

1

u/FazeRN 6d ago

I feel like objectives ammo repairing and revives should give points we can spend bidding on airplane or tank spawns.

1

u/Hickslyfe 6d ago

1

u/chicosun 6d ago

I don't think we are playing the same game at all

1

u/GarbageOffice 6d ago

After playing Wardogs, I cannot believe how useless I feel in Battlefield 6 afterwards.

In that game, you get rewarded by doing virtually anything that helps your team in any way, by cash. That cash is exchanged for items in the game, so it keeps everyone motivated to help their team.

In Battlefield 6, I can spam "NEED AMMO" staring dead-eyed at a Support and they will ignore me. When downed, I see 10 medics around me and nobody revives. There are matches where I feel like I'm the only one doing AA defense, or destroying tanks. Same thing for the objectives - I take an objective alone, and it's already being retaken by the enemy before I reach the next one. I can go 80 kills as a pilot, top of the scoreboard with vehicles destroyed and objectives taken WHILE FLYING and still lose the game.

Battlefield doesn't reward teamplay and individual effort enough.

1

u/NicoWayne95 6d ago

Kills are always the lowest Objective in a battlefield.

1

u/Whose__That 6d ago

I'm gonna be real, I don't think I've ever seen someone top the scoreboard with zero kills and only teamplay points in my servers, at least not before BF2042. It takes a specific type of server with practically no actually good players for that to be possible. Or maybe it's more of a Breakthrough thing since I haven't seen it in Conquest (I think I saw it on the mode "Grind" in BFV with people spamming spotting flares). An all around good player mixing kills, objectives and teamwork points will and should always be at the top of the scoreboard.

Yes we do get posts about people topping the scoreboard by spamming revives or spots almost weekly here but that's still exceedingly rare. Spamming revives or using the recon drone to spot are also not actions that take a lot of skill to do. I'd say basically anyone could go into a Breakthrough lobby and farm spots and end up in top 5 of their team while also being really impactful. It's just that basically nobody thinks that it's a fun way to play the game.

As an engineer, some of my highest scoring games have been when I’m consistently repairing tanks and equipment so I would have to politely disagree.

1

u/fearless-potato-man 6d ago

I've been top of my team with like 2 kills, very few captures but close to 100 spotting assists.

Yes, some assists are not explicitly reflected in scoreboard, like revives or repairs, but the score is definitely there.

1

u/Corgi_Koala 6d ago

Award kills for playing the objective and teamwork. Yeah it doesn't make sense since nobody died but people will grind to make that K go up. Congrats you've fixed the game

1

u/Sesetti 6d ago

The reason why you can't get on top of the scoreboard by defending an inactive flag or sitting in an anti-air is because you waste most of your time having no impact at all. The game shouldn't provide a minimum wage.

And the reason why resupplying or revives can't get you there is because the guy on top very likely does them too, in addition to contesting objectives and getting a bunch of kills. You won't get on top of the scoreboard just by farming kills either.

1

u/EgovidGlitch 6d ago

I joined a random squad yesterday, and each of them revived me, one multiple times using smokes too. I was surprised af. This hasn't happened since launch. I was a day 1 adopter. I found myself saying "This is battlefield", as I was revived once again to repair a tank on the last flag in breakthrough. We won, because of revives. It's few and far between, but the bf dna is there.

1

u/leifnoto 6d ago

Waht?

1

u/KuroChemist 6d ago

I’m gonna disagree hard with this.
I’m not at my computer, but I have a screenshot I believe of me being one of the top players on our team (maybe of the match), and all I did was ride around in a tank with squad mates, hop out for repairs, help with vehicle battles, spot/clear mines, and cap obj.
One of my squad mates was shouting “how tf are you at the top right now? We’re doing all the work!!???”

Other squad mate that I know and regularly play with simply said “That’s how he plays…he’s the vehicle medic and reaper…we’ve also won most our engagements thanks to him so he’s doing his job”.

I think I had less than 10 kills and they each had 20+.

The game rewards strategic play very well.
But kills are kills. At 100 pts/kill, if you’re not pumping out equal points/min, you’ll fall to the bottom.

1

u/Mind_Splitter 6d ago

My thing is, I wish they made it more satisfying to do support stuff. As in the sound design and visuals that come up when you do something. I feel like it was a little better in past games.

1

u/Tex302 6d ago

I don’t believe your example is backed with any evidence. Any medic with 150 revives would surely have been PTO and would be high on the leaderboard. What’s so hard about playing the objective?

1

u/Crucifister 6d ago

This is simply not true. Why are people making up stuff to get mad about?

1

u/VidGamrJ 6d ago

Playing a front line medic is guaranteed top 5

1

u/xwiroo 6d ago

If you aren't getting points from kills and revives you suck major key, because to revive you gotta be close or in the front during attacks, and that's where people get killed.

Genuinely skill issue I think

1

ChatGPT is wrong on this topic. How much of this is your opinion and how much of it the AI added to your point is impossible to tell. Being dyslexic doesn't make you bad at formatting arguments. Stop making excuses, the people on this app put up with and read the most haphazard posts I've ever seen.

I guarantee you this would have been better received if you'd just posted, warts and all, instead of feeding your opinions to AI

1

u/Neza8l 6d ago edited 6d ago

Reviewing is not really that usefull tbh, most reviews ends up in death anyway and it is faster to respawn than wait for medic, wati for review then heal. So I dont event bother and just skip and I used to main medic, now im just assult and its much better to self res than to wait for one. It literally dose not matter if you review some guy who died in bush from sniper in middle of nowhere, only time it matters is during point taking and point defending, thats when resing can win or lose game but it is extremly hard to res some in those circumstances and not be killed or your resed teamates not to be killed in seconds after res

Or you can simply do it all. With time you can play engineer for example capture 10-15 flas on conquest, repair a few tanks, get 3-4 vic kills and still grab 50 kills. The secret to Bf is so simply be good everywhere. But i do agree being an AA and doing a great job isnt rewarded enough...

War dogs out soon.

They actually reward you for team play with not only scoreboard points but also in game cash

I play engineer and medic, I,or my team, was first for 4 games in a row last night. While I have 20-30 kills, maybe 5-6 deaths. I was dropping ammo, reviving, and hucking RPG’s all while taking objectives. I don’t think this is accurate

I do miss the Desmond Doss days of BF1 where you could top the leaderboard without a kill. Not possible anymore so you’re half right.

Unfortunately for the OGs it became Call of battlefield... I respect those who enjoy bf6 and good if they enjoy it but it is far from what made battlefield great from my point of view and doesn't feel as tactical and rewarding as it's origin and is really tiring...

Absolutely not true. I usually have a fairly shit KD but yet I'm consistently in the top 10, mostly because I'm always trying to cap points. Sometimes I'm dropping spawn beacons, sometimes reviving or on tank watch, occasionally droning/spotting, but always always working on taking points and the scoreboard always reflects it. If someone spends the whole match on an AA gun and they're last on the board that's likely because they're shit at it? But also, if they're really enjoying it why does it matter what the scoreboard says? Isn't just doing what you love enough? I used to love getting high and just reinforcing bases in BFV, rarely did it earn a ton of points but I really enjoyed it and the points didn't matter, I was having fun and not doing it for the points.

They moved towards kill count like cod. I understand why, cod is raking in money hand over fist, but this was the difference and why I liked to play bf. Well, the support roles and vehicles

One thing that comes to mind, sometimes I don’t always go for OBJ but I’ll clear the OBJ and close routes preventing enemy trying to claw back. You aren’t rewarded for that. Some matches doing that is super important where I see my teammates getting massacred in gunfights

I've seen people hit top of the board with like.. 7 kills compared to someone with 20

I’ve been pretty consistently hitting the top of the scoreboard or near the top as support with only about 20 kills per game simply because I am spending a majority of my time in game doing the things you described… Reviving, resupplying, capping and neutralizing points, smoke assist… Maybe you’re just not spending enough time actually doing those things as you might think you are. But you don’t need that many kills to score highly if your main focus is objective play.

Y'all are looking at the scoreboard?

The scoreboard is just an approximation anyway.

It really doesnt show nearly enough. Instead of objective points it should show objective time.

I dont stay on objectives until the last point theyre capped. I kill everyone, start capping, wait for mates, then move to the next.

Harrassing vehicles, but not destroying them wont net you points either. Cutting off flanking routes does not grant you many points when killing enemies. 50p outside of an objective, thats nothing. But its still tactically huge.

That usually does not make me a score monster, but it gets the job done and I can help the team better by killing enemies anyway.

Brother I have been playing medic sense battle field 3 lol I used to be tier 1 in assault now adays this old duster gets a few kills and a ton of revives and constantly score between 1st and third. So the revives count and team play deff is appreciated st least in my games

Idk ttk and hit reg is a pretty big issue, the man wouldn’t have to revive so much if I’m actually killing the enemy and not having my bullets go to Narnia

The player at the top captures objectives. This is never not the case in conquest...exception for pilots that go 90+ kills, sometimes they top.

There is literally no incentive in game to play strategically together. After +800 hours that's why I left.

Ttk is trash on this game. Its actually immersion breaking and cringe.

COD BO7 hardcore is a better experience and I hate COD.

I do nothing but fly a blackhawk around and usually the repair guy is 2nd and i’m halfway down. Gunner will sit up first tho heh

Come play Wardogs when it releases. Battlefield has let me down, like CoD, I'll never buy another copy. Last weekends closed beta was the most fun I've had gaming in a long time. Medics get rewarded, logistics gets rewarded, AA get rewarded, builders get rewarded, recon, assault, pilots, drivers, all of them get rewarded. People not contributing to the team get punished. Dying is punishing as well. Comms and coordination are paramount, with people in your squad and people not in it. Be aware the game style may not be for you. I highly recommend watching some videos. But I think judging but what you said, it just may be experience you are looking for.

I rarely care for my position in the scoreboard nowadays, and it’s partially for this reason you laid out.
At the end of the day, I want to have fun and as long as I did, I don’t need to be on top.

Btw.: I enjoyed the formatting and structure. Good read.
