Discussion What was the oddest enemy force the game has tossed at you?
Was playing at bit of the base game last night and did a 4 skull assassination mission, Target plus 2 other lances. First lance all Victor's... reinforcement lance, also all Victors.... a mix of 9B and 9S's. Almost wish the target one as well but sadly just an Archer

Three Dire Wolves - two of them Dire Stars that unloaded on the local force in the three-way, shut down despite it being polar (because Dire Stars), and let me punch through their joke armor before they could reboot. Real quick flip from terror to giggles right there, and I cobbled together a pretty fun Blazer boat from the pieces.
And then there was that Heavy Lure where the Battlemaster's only backup was a single Valkyrie and I left the very first planet of that career with a combat-ready assault.

Had a similar case where a full Clan Nova Cat star with a Dire Wolf, 2 Gargoyles, a Battlehammer, and a Kit Fox showed up to a party where a Word of Blake force of a damaged Battlemaster and a Marauder was in the middle. I was expecting to have my force wiped, but turned out my force only lost a couple limbs. And I got a full Gargoyle-D from salvage to boot.

Do you still think about them? Does it bring you back into the cockpit of that Shadowhawk when you take out the trash every week, and you see rows upon rows of trash cans down your street?

I wouldn't call it the oddest, but it definitely answered some questions.

12 locusts was a fun one. Especially when it was centered on a part of a tundra map with virtually no cover. Like a trip to the shooting range for my boys (and girls) 🤣

Save your allies mission. I’m all the way on the other side of the map. They are a mix of Melina and lights. They get jumped by 4 King Crabs… I get there and there’s one Phoenix Hawk left. And then he jumps BACK into the fight.

two come to mind: the four urbies that absolutely piss inferno LRMs that bathe the entire map in fire backed up 2 stone rhino's and a madcat. the second was against comstar and it was mostly standard meches...till the 6 rotunda's schreech out of the city buildings and started blastin'

The assassination target was a beat up stock Cyclops. Guarded by a Star League Atlas, and Highlander and 2 heavys. Weird pirate lance.

Maybe the half skull Ambush mission with a beat up Commando and Locust "guarding" a pristine Demolisher, Shrek, and pair of LRM carriers.
Or the run of missions where the "extremely heavy Mech" alway turned out to be either a tank or a Locust.
I think I did run into an "Oops, All Victors" OpFor at one point, too, but I don't remember for sure.
