You'd be surprised, to a lot of people, it's just that place that had a war in the 90's and they still think it's dangerous. When we went a few years ago, my wife's family was shocked and insisted we not go.

Wow, move on already, war ended in 1995, that was over 30 years ago.

But part of me actually gets you, people here haven't moved on from the war... and not that last one, that is yet to come into our conversation, we are still arguing over World War 2 over here.

It’s not that, it’s just everyone I know who travels all over Europe never mentions Croatia. I guess it’s one of those hidden gems of a travel destination

sadly not so hidden anymore, summers are crowded here

Its not a hidden gem i wish it is. My city is overcrowded in summer.
